Light up some Love!
Today Ellen shares how to stretch your supplies and create a love themed card using holiday stamps and stencils!
For her card base she a beautiful colored background panel using distress inks in shades of pink and red. Then she used Light Strings Stencil Set to add a fun lightbulb pattern. This stencil includes two layers and she inked the layer that has just the strings and lightbulb bases with a dark red distress ink. Then she used the second layer of the stencil (that has the lightbulb tops) and added foil using transfer gel to give the bulbs a bit of fun shimmer! She cut the panel down to fit inside the scallop edged frame from our Frames & Flags Die Set.
For her main image she used the lightbulb from our Holiday Lights Stamp Set. To create a love theme with the lightbulb she added a heart to the center with a yellow glow around it. The bulb was cut out with the coordinating Holiday Lights Die Set. She then layered the bulb over a vellum heart that was cut out using our Heart Frames Die Set.
To add to the Love theme, she used the sentiment "you light up my life" from the Bright Sentiments Hot Foil Plate. She used a hot foil machine to foil the sentiment in gold onto red cardstock and then cut it out using the Banner Duo Die Set.
Isn't this a fun way to stretch those holiday stamps and stencils to create a fun love themed project? We hope this has inspired you to take a look at your holiday sets and see if they can be stretched to use for different occassions!
