Bushel of Thanks Card by Tatiana Trafimovich

A Bushel and a Peck!

Today we are sharing a beautiful thank you card by Tatiana featuring bushels of lovely fall items!

For this beautiful autumn card, she stamped the bushel images from our Fall Harvest Stamp Set. She stamped the bushel basket three times and then stamped three different fall images to fill it, apples, pumpkins and sunflowers. She colored all the images in soft fall colors using copic markers and then added white gel pen accents. She used the coordinating Fall Harvest Die Set to cut the images out. 

For her card, she created a white cardstock base that is 5 x 7 inches. Then she used our A7 Frames & Banners Die Set to cut a trio of stitched rectangles. She inked the rectangles using blue distress ink and added fun white paint splatters. She arranged the rectangles on her card, adding a bushel basket to each one. Then she added the sentiment, split into the three panels. On the top panel she embossed the words and fussy cut them out. On the middle panel she stamped directly on the background. On the bottom panel she embossed the words onto a small banner (also from our A7 Frames & Banners Die Set). Treating panel of the card a bit differently really adds interest to the card!

2023 National Coffee Day Blog Hop

Today we are playing along with the 2023 National Coffee Day Blog hop!

I you like coffee you are going to LOVE this blog hop! There are so may fun stops on this hop featuring coffee themed cards you are sure to be inspired! There will be prizes too on most of the stops! Here's what I created for our stop today:

 

To celebrate National coffee day I decided to feature our Newton Loves Coffee and Time For Coffee Stamp Sets.  

First I cut out a stitched rectangle using our Frames & Flags Die Set. Then I used wide masking tape to block off the bottom of the rectangle, inking the top with blue. I then moved the tape, and inked the bottom with brown. I also added splatters using water and brown and white inks to give the table top some texture. 

For the images I stamped and colored the kitty making coffee with his french press from the Newton Loves Coffee Stmap Set and the small mug and coffee grinder from the Time For Coffee Stamp Set. The images were colored with copic markers and I added a few details to the kitty with a white gel pen. Then I cut them out using the coordinating Newton Loves Coffee Die Set and Time For Coffee Die Set. 

I arranged the images on the rectangle and then framed it with a postage edge frame from our Framework Die Set and a coffee bean patterened paper piece from our Coffee House Stories Paper Pad. 

For the sentiment, I used "take time to pour over the good things in life" from the Time For Coffee Stamp Set. It was stamped onto a triangle banner from our Slimline Frames & Windows Die Set.

Ghostly Dog and Cat Halloween Cards by Zsofia Molnar

Ghostly Halloween Cards!

Today we are sharing a duo of fun ghost cards by Zsofia that would be perfect to send to dog and cat lovers. 

To create these two fun cards, Zsofia stamps the cat, dog and little ghost from our Ghostly Good Times Stamp Set. She adds just a hint of blue to the edges of the images to give them a ghostly highlights. She also stamps the moon image twice, coloring it with light yellow highlights. She cut the images out with the coordinating Ghostly Good Times Die Set. 

For her cards, she started with simple white card bases and then inked fun blue halos in the centers using distress ink. She added some water splatters and a little bit of white paint splatter to give the sky some fun  texture. Then she added stars to the sky and the dog and cat themed halloween sentiments to finish out the cards.

These cards are simple, yet so fun and spooky! What a perfect way to send a Halloween hello to a friend, especially one who likes dogs or cats!

Spook-tacular Halloween Card by Diane Morales

Spook-tacular Halloween Wishes!

Today we are sharing a spooky cute Halloween card by Diane!

For this card she features the cute stack of friends dressed in halloween costumes from our Halloween Pile Stamp Set. She colored the kitty and puppy using neutral colors with pops of orange for Halloween. She cut the image out using the coordinating Halloween Pile Die Set. 

For her card, she created a slimline layout using the tall skinny scallop edged rectangle die from our Slimline Frames & Portholes Die Set. She then used the spider patterned paper from our Halloween Time Paper Pad, cutting the paper in angled stripes to fit onto the slim card front. 

She added the cute pile of friends onto the card, framing the image with an oval (cut out using our Oval Frames Die Set). She added the sentiment from the Halloween Pile Stamp Set in the upper right corner, stamped onto a small white banner that was cut out using our Frames & Flags Die Set. 

The finishing touch is lots of little bats, also from the Halloween Pile Stamp Set. She embossed the bats using glittery embossing powder to give the card a bit of sparkle!

Recycled Gift Box by Ellen Haxelmans

A Special gift for mom!

Today Ellen has created fun and unique gift box as a special gift for mom!

To create this box, she simply carefully took apart a box with printing on it and turned it inside out to use the blank inside as the outside. She then decorated it, using our Trailing Leaves Stencil to add pretty pink leaves all over the front. She then used dies from our  Flower Trio Die Set (retiring), Frames Squared Die Set and Slimline Frames & Portholes Die Set to create the fun center image on the box. 

Last, she added a tag using our Tags Times Two Die Set and Fancy Edges Tag Die Set. She stamped the "to my mom" using our Best Mom Oval Stamp Set to decorate the tag. 

What a fun way to make a special customized box! You don't need a special die set, just use what you have on hand and get creative!

Made for Each Other Halloween Card by Amanda Wilcox

Frankenstein Halloween Sweethearts!

Today we are featuring a fun Halloween themed card by Amanda that is sure to make you smile! 

The fun kitty couple on this card were stamped from our Fraken-Newton Stamp Set. She colored the kitty Frankenstein and the kitty bride of Frankenstein in fun shades of green and purple and cut them out using the coordinating Franken-Newton Die Set. 

For her card, she created a lovely lime green card base with distress inks, adding green paint splatters. Next, she used our Spiderweb Hot Foil Plates to foil a web and spider.  She cut out the foiled images into a heart shape using the scalloped heart die cut from our Heart Frames Die Set and added more distress inks over the foiled images, this time in pink hues with black paint splatters. She stamped the "made for each other" from the Fraken-Newton Stamp Set onto the upper right side of the heart. 

What a fabulous way to create a fun and unique Halloween card!

Chrysanthemum Card by Guest Designer Brennan Keane

Today we a special guest post to share. We are featuring more beautiful work from the talented young Brennan Keane!  

Hello everyone! I am so excited to be back on the Newton’s Nook blog today! For those of you that don’t know me, my name is Brennan and I’m a 15 year old card maker who loves floral stamps. But you’re not here to learn about me, so let's get into this fall floral card!

For this card, I’ll be using the newest addition to the floral line, the Chrysanthemum Stamp Set! I decided to go for a funky fall look, so instead of coloring the stamp in with your traditional fall colors, I used copic colors RV19 (the darker marker) and V06 (the lighter marker) to create a magenta blend. I then colored in the leaves with G24, doing multiple layers of it to create a slight dimensional effect. I also used Y15 to color in the center of the flower.

To make the background, I used a Catherine Pooler ink pad in the color Glam to create a custom colored cardstock. I then used the Holiday Foliage Stencil, which in my opinion can be a fall or winter stencil, with some Lunar Paste in the color Slippery When Wet to add a little shine to the card! To mount the floral to the card, I used some shape dies from my stash with white and lilac colored cardstock, and glued that all down to the background! Finally, to finish off the card, I added a black matte and called it a day!

Cuddle Puddle Scrapbook Layout by Samantha Mann

A Kitty Cuddle Puddle 

Today we are sharing an adorable kitty scrapbook page by Samantha!

This beautiful card features Samanthas adorable kitties and several of our cat themed products!

Samantha created a fun circle of cat themed patterns using our Meow Stencil with texture paste. Then she added various colors of paint over the top. She also added stamped pawprints, kitty faces and the sentiment "because cats" using our  Cat-itude Stamp Set with black ink. To add a fun pop of pattern, she used our Sky Scene Builder Die Set to cut out stars from patteren pieces taken from our Birthday Meows Paper Pad.  She also tore away a section of her paper on the left side and tucked a patterened paper behind it, also from our Birthday Meows Paper Pad. So fun!
