Gnome-one Like You Card by Tina Herbeck

 

Spring in the Garden!

Today we have a beautiful garden scene created by Tina that combines several of our favorite spring stamp sets! 

To create this scene Tina stamped the gnome from our Gnome Garden Stamp Set, the bunny from our Bitty Bunnies Stamp Set and flowers from our Bleeding Heart Stamp Set and Tulips Stamp Set. We love all the beutiful details she gave her coloring! She cut out the images using their coordinating die sets (Gnome Garden Die Set, Bitty Bunnies Die Set, Bleeding Heart Die Set, and Tulips Die Set). 

The next step was the create a garden scene for all these fun images. She used our  Frames & Flags Die Set to cut out a panel with a scalloped edge. She cut out a second panel using the same die and then cut it again using the Land Borders Die Set to make a grassy edge on the bottom that perfectly lines up with the top of the card. She added distress ink in blues for the sky and greens on the grass. Some water splatters and ink splatters give a fun texture to the background too. 

She assembled all the images over the background she created. The finishing touch is the sentiment, "There's gnome-one like you!" stamped into the sky using our Gnome Garden Stamp Set. 

What a gorgeous way to. mix and match different stamp sets to create a fun scene! We hope this inspires you to look at your stamps and see which ones could go together!

Brew-tiful Shaker Card by Ellen Haxelmans

Brew-tiful Shaker Card!

Today Ellen has created a beautiful shaker card that is perfect for sending to a coffee lover! 

The fun shaker frame was cut out using our A7 Frames & Banner Die Set and the background is filled with a coffee bean patterned paper from our Coffee House Stories Paper Pad. She embellishes the shaker with coffee themed images from our Love Café Stamp Set, Newton's Mug Stamp Set and Time for Coffee Stamp Set.

Here are some tips from Ellen on how to create this Shaker Card:

• (Left photo above): First, die cut 3 times the second largest frame from the A7 Frames & Banner Die Set (out of pattern paper, white paper and foam adhesive). Stick the foam adhesive frame on top of a card base and place the pattern paper in the open spaces
  
  
• (Right photo above): Next you add the shaker material. You cut a transparency as large as the ourside of the full sized frame.  Stick the transparency on top of the foam adhesive frame. As last step you adhere the white frame on top of the clear acetate.

A Little Pickup Card by Amanda Wilcox

 

   

A little Pickup!

Do you know someone who could use a little cheer? Today we're sharing a card by Amanda that is sure to brighten anyone's day!

For this sunny card, Amanda started by inking bright yellow distress inks onto a white card base, adding some water splatters for texture. She then cut out three postage edged rectangles using our Framework Die Set and added ink onto those as well, this time in orange. 

The star of the show is the cute little truck, stamped from our Farming Fun Stamp Set. She colored the truck a bright red and cut the image out using the coordinating Farming Fun Die Set. She added the sentiment "Thought you could use a little pickup!" from the Farming Fun Stamp Set onto a bubble that was cut out using our Speech Bubbles Die Set. Isn't that the cutest!? A few little red clay hearts add the perfect finishing touch!

Have a MICE Birthday Card by Maria Russell

Have a MICE Birthday!

Today we are sharing a sweet and simple birthday greeting by Maria that will make a birthday extra mice!

This adorable card features the sweet mouse holding the balloon from our Birthday Mice Stamp Set. She stamped and colored the image and gave it little details with rosy cheeks and white gel pen accents. She then cut the image out using the coordinating Birthday Mice Die Set. 

For her card background she cut a scallop edged panel out from water friendly paper using our Frames & Flags Die Set. Then she loosely watercolored a rainbow of color over the panel and added a bunch of white and red paint splatters. Next, she embossed the sentiment "Have a mice birthday!" from the Birthday Mice Stamp Set in white onto a black circle that was die cut using our Circle Frames Die Set.

Lilac Card by Young Guest Designer Brennan Keane

Today we a special guest post to share. We featuring the work of the young Brennan Keane! Brennan is a big fan of creating cards featuring flowers and we are enjoying all his lovely floral cards over on instagram at bkd_creations! Today we are excited to share a card he created especially for our blog! Keep reading on to view his lovely project today!

Hello everyone!
My name is Brennan Keane and I am a fifteen year old crafter from Boston. I have been a paper crafter for three years now and stamping for two! I first got into this craft obsession when I discovered the electronic die cutting machine. Then I got into stamping and one of the first companies I discovered Newton’s Nook Designs! One of my favorite stamps has been their Lilac Stamp Set and for my first guest design ever, I think it is only fitting that I use it!

First up, when making any creation with a stamp, is to stamp out the image. I stamped the lilac image with Tim Holtz’s distress ink in the color Black Soot. I allowed the image to dry for a couple of seconds, then I went in with my copic markers in the colors V22, V25, Y19, and G07. I wanted the card to be a little more interesting so I paired the lilac flower with a blue sprayed background which I made with Tim Holtz spray stain in the color Tumbled Glass. I also decided to cut out the background with a die cut.

To complete the card, I added the sentiment from the same Lilac Stamp Set and stamped it in Tim Holtz distress ink in the color black soot. I added a few purple embellishments, then finally I added a blue border around the card front out of some cardstock to complete the card!

Baking Kitty Card by Jennifer Jackson

Life is what you BAKE it!

Hello! Jen here today with cat that is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth! 

Today Newton is heading to the kitchen to bake up some yummies on our Newton's Kitchen Stamp Set. Isn't that kitty cute with the big mixing bowl? I colored the image with colored pencils and then cut it out using the coordinating Newton's Kitchen Die Set. 

For the card base, I choose a teal colored cardstock and then layered a kraft colored paper over the top, leaving the teal around the edge. I then chose 3 patterns from our Love & Chocolate Paper Pad, including cupcakes since I was imagining that's what Newton was baking! I layered strips of the paper along the center of the card, adding a line of white cotton twine too. I then cut a fun decorative square from our white cardstock using our Frames Squared Die Set. I added the sentiment, "Life is what you BAKE it!" from our Newton's Kitchen Stamp Set along the top and layered the kitty image underneath. 

This card was so fun to create and will be purr-fect for sending to a friend who loves to bake!

Lucky That You're my Friend Card by Samantha Mann

Lucky That You're my Friend! 

Today we are sharing an adorable St. Patricks Day card by Samantha that is filled with a rainbow of luck!

This sweet card features the kitty from our Newton's Pot of Gold Stamp Set. Isn't Newton so cute in his little top hat peeking behind the pot of gold? Sam colored the image using neutral colors with pops of gold and green. She also added pink cheeks to the kitty and a few white gel pen details. So cute! She fussy cut the image out by hand to add to her card. 

For her card, she started with a white card base and then layered on a gorgeous rainbow. To create the rainbow, she cut out a piece of paper using our Land Borders Die Set to give it fun curved edges and then she inked the rainbow colors over the top. She also added glittery stars using our Cascading Stars Stencil for a touch of sparkle! Then she assembled the card, putting Newton and his pot of gold at the foot of the rainbow. She embossed the sentiment in white onto black cardstock and hand cut it out to layer over the rainbow. So pretty!

What a wonderful way send special St. Patrick's Day wishes to a friend!

Be My MEOW-entine!

Happy MEOW-entines Day!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!  Today I wanted to feature a couple more Valentine's Day cards that I created! When I colored the kitty for the card I shared last week (see post here), I had colored a few more images so I wanted to make them into cards as well. So I created a card layout I liked and used the same layout for all of my cards today. 

I started out by cutting a piece of ivory paper to 4" x 5.25" to fit just inside the gray card base. Then I stenciled over the paper using our Petite Hearts Stencil. I faded the stenciling along the bottom just by using less pressure as I applied the ink. 

Next, I stamped and embossed the image of a heart full of smaller patterned hearts from our Heartfelt Love Stamp Set. I inked over the image with pink ink and then cut it out using the Heart Frames Die Set. I then cut out a large scallop edged heart, also using the Heart Frames Die Set to layer behind it. Then I simply grabbed my previously colored kitty from the Smitten Kittens Stamp Set, cut him out using the coordinating  Smitten Kittens Die Set and popped him up over the hearts. So cute! 

I decided he needed a valentine themed sentiment so I stamped the sentiment from our Newton's Valentine Stamp Set onto a speech bubble (cut out usign our Speech Bubbles Stamp Set) and placed it above his head. Isn't this adorable!? I added a bit of cream colored cotton twine to finish out the layout. 

I had another image colored from the same Smitten Kittens Stamp Set so I cut that image out as well using the Smitten Kittens Die Set and used the same process as above to make a second card. This one features the two kitties snuggling:

I had so much fun coloring all these cute kittens and creating Valentine cards!

Heart Shaped Box of Chocolates by Amanda Wilcox

Woof you be Mine?

Today we are sharing an adorable Valentine treat by Amanda! Today she has created a heart shaped box to hold chocolates with a puppy on the lid! What a fun way to create a special treat for a recipient who loves dogs!

She started by cutting out two big red hearts using our Heart Frames Die Set.  These will be the box top and bottom. She then cut out the scallop edged heart using the Heart Frames Die Set to layer on the box lid. This heart was cut from a page of our Love & Woofs Paper Pad that was filled with dog bones. 

Next, she stamped and colored the cute pup from our Puppy Heart Stamp Set along with two little bones. She colored the pup and bones in neutral colors and then colored the heart a bright teal for a fun pop of color. This set has a variety of sentiments that fit inside the heart and she choose "Woof you be mine?" for her fun project today. She cut the images out using the coordinating Puppy Heart Die Set and layered them onto her heart box lid along with some fun little heart embellishments. 

Now that the lid was decorated, she folded paper strips into a dimensional triangle and adhered it to the base to make a spot to hold the chocolates. Yum!

Hello Sunshine Card by Larissa Heskett

Hello Sunshine

Today Larissa has created a card that is sure to brighten your day!

This sunny card features a cluster of lemons from our Lemon Twist Stamp Set. She colored them in gorgeous bright yellows and cut them out using the coordinating Lemon Twist Die Set. She added them to her card, arranging them in a yummy bunch and added several little flowers and swirls from the same set.

To add a pop of color she layered a butterfly on top using our  Monarchs Stamp Set, cut out with our Monarchs Die Set. She framed the whole panel with a pretty blue polka dotted paper from our Love & Meows Paper Pad, cut out using our Frames & Flags Die Set.

You Make my Heart PURR by Jennifer Jackson

You Make my Heart PURR!

Hello! Jen here today with a another fun kitty themed Valentine!  Today I'm featuring that sweet kitten from the Smitten Kittens Stamp Set in a card that is sure to please any cat lover!

To start out I stamped and colored the image of the kitty sitting with his feet posed up from our Smitten Kittens Stamp Set. Don't you just love seeing those toe beans!? I had fun coloring the image with watercolor markers. Then I cut the image out using the coordinating Smitten Kittens Die Set to add him to my card. 

For the card base I choose a piece of gray cardstock and cut it to 4" x 5.25" to fit just inside my white card base. Then I cut several patterened papers using pieces from our Love & Meows Paper Pad and the banner die from our Frames & Flags Die Set. I stacked them in a row over the gray background. Next I cut two hearts out using our Heart Frames Die Set. I cut the large heart from vellum so that I could layer it over the papers without totally blocking the pretty patterns. Then I cut the small heart out from red paper and stamped the sentiment "You make my heart PURR" from the new Newton's Heart Stamp Set onto the heart, embossing it in white. 

I just love how this turned out! It was quick and easy to make and would make a purr-fect Valentine greeting. It would also make a fun anniversary card or you send love any time of year!

Kitty Valentine Card by Donna Idlet

Kitty Valentine!

Today Donna has created a kitty themed Valentine that is sure to warm your heart!

This sweet Valentine features the cozy duo of kitties from our Newton's Antics Stamp Set. She colored the the kitties and their toy mouse and cut them out using the coordinating Newton's Antics Die Set.  She layered them over a duo of hearts that were cut out using our Heart Frames Die Set. She also added a couple of hearts around them, stamped using our Heart Frames Die Set. 

For her card base she choose two fun patterns from our Love & Meows Paper Pad and cut them both out using our Frames & Flags Die Set. She split the panel in half, giving her card two fun patterns and added a little black strip in the center to separate them. The finishing touch is the sentiment "loves mew" from the Newton's Antics Stamp Set, embossed in white onto a little black rectangle.  

This snuggly kitty card would make a perfect Valentine or would be great for an anniversary or other occasion too!
