Roll With It Card by Jennifer Jackson

Let's Just Roll with It!

Hello! Jen here today with a fun snowman card that is sure to make you smile!

For this card I used the adorable mini Roll With It Stamp Set. This funny stamp makes me smile every time! I love the sentiment "Sometimes you just have to ROLL with it" with the snowman's head as the letter "o". This card is especially fitting a week before Christmas when we are trying our best to get everything done that needs to be done for the holidays! Sometimes you just have to relax and roll with it! 

For the card, I started with a teal cardstock base.  Then I used our Gingham Stencil with white texture paste over black cardstock to make a fun buffalo check pattern. I used this along one side of the card. Then I stamped and colored the image from the Roll With It Stamp Set onto a piece of paper that fit just behind the frame with the interior scalloped edge from our Framework Die Set. 

A simple white ribbon adds the finishing touch to this fun and simple card!

Christmas Cocktails Cards by Ellen Haxelmans

Christmas Cocktails!

Today we are getting into the holiday "spirit" with this fun duo of cards by Ellen.

She created both of these cards using fun drinks from our Christmas Cocktails Stamp Set. This set includes a large variety of festive drinks that a perfect for holiday celebrations. For her cards today she chose to use the mojito and margarita. She colored the images in fun bright colors using copic markers and then cut them out with the coordinating Christmas Cocktails Die Set. 

For the cards, she cut out square card bases and then used our Frames Squared Die Set to create the stitched rounded corner and scalloped layers. She added a piece of patterned paper on top of the scalloped square on each card, choosing a print that matched the colors of her card from our Coffee House Stories Paper Pad. The center layer is the fun decorative square, also cut using our Frames Squared Die Set. Last, she added the sentiments, embossed onto banners that were cut out with our Banner Trio Die Set. 

Here's a closer look at the mojito card. Mojito decorated with the Santa hat goes perfectly with the sentiment "Mojit-ho-ho-ho".

The second card features a margarita decorated with holly and with the sentiment "Get into the holiday spirit!"

Christmas Gnome Card & a Farewell to Samantha VanArnhem

 

Christmas Gnome Card!

Today we are sharing a fun holiday gnome card created by Samantha!  

Samantha took the image of a gnome pushing a wheelbarrow from our Gnome Garden Stamp Set and tuned it into a Christmas image by filling it with little red and green gifts! What a fun idea! She stamped and colored the gnome image in shades ore red and green, cutting it out with the coordinating Gnome Garden Die Set. The assorted small gifts were stamped from our Christmas Pheasant Stamp Set, Prehistoric Christmas Stamp Set, and Newton's Stocking Stamp Set. She assembled this fun image all together and layered it over a fun simple ink blended rectangle. The finishing touches are snowflakes in the sky and the "merry christmas" sentiment, both from our Snow Much Cheer Stamp Set. 

A Fond Farewell

I am sad to say that this project marks the LAST post for Samantha VanArnhem as part of our Design Team at Newton's Nook Designs! We have enjoyed having Samantha on our team this year and are so sad to see go! Her lovely clean and simple projects are constant reminder of how cards can be simple, yet stunning! She also often combines images in new and creative ways that we would never have thought of! We know we will continue to be inspired by her in the future and we wish her the very best in her future creative endeavors! You can tell that Samantha enjoyed creating with our Gnome Garden Stamp Set! This favorite of hers features the Gnome Garden Stamp Set and coordinating Gnome Garden Die Set. She made this into a Father's Day Card by using the sentiment from the Mom & Dad Stamp Set on a banner cut using the Banner Trio Die Set. For this favorite, Samantha chose this adorable beach card! This palm trees on this fun scene were created using our Retro Sun & Palms Stencil Set. In the front is the duo of dogs from our Beach Barks Stamp Set. She a fun wooden sign behind them, re-purposing it from our Hoppy Greetings Stamp Set.

For lovely fall card Samantha used the big blooms from our Sunflower Days Stamp Set. They are growing from a dirt mound that was cut out using our  Fancy Edges Tag Die Set. The scene is set with a fence cut using our Fence Die Set and clouds stenciled in with our Clouds Stencil. You can find this card originally posted here.

 

On her last favorite card, Samantha featured a trio of ladies from the Brooms & Boos Stamp Set. These witchy friends are clustered around the fence cut with our Fence Die Set in front of a simple ink blended background. You can find this card originally posted here.

Merry Woof-mas Card by Amanda Wilcox

Merry Woof-mas!

Today we have another fun dog themed holiday card to share! This cute circle card by Amanda features the cute puppy, nestled in a cozy Christmas scene! 

To create this fun card she stared by coloring the puppy from our Christmas Puppies Stamp Set. She colored in in various neutral colors using copics and then added gloss to the candy cane and nose and glitter to the polka dots on the scarf! These fun details really make the card feel special! Here's a clos up so you can see all the detail:

The puppy image was cut out using the coordinating Christmas Puppies Die Set. For the background she created layers of circles using our Circle Frames Die Set. On the smallest circle she also added a snowy hill using our Sea Borders Die Set. Behind the snowy hill she created a snow filled sky by embossing the snowflake image from our Snowfall Roundabout Stamp Set onto a blue inked background. 

The finishing touch is the sentiment "Merry Woof-mas," stamped onto the bubble cut out using our Speech Bubbles Die Set. What a fun little scene!

Happy Holi-Dogs Card by Maria Russell

Happy Holi-DOGS! 

Are you ready for the Holidays? How about the "Holi-dogs"? Today we have an adorable dog themed holiday card by Maria that is sure to make you smile, especially if you like dogs!

This card features that fun pup from the Christmas Puppies Stamp Set. He's so cute peeking out of the giant Santa boot! She colored the image with copics, adding fun spots to his ear and face. She also added some fun texture to the fuzzy white parts on the hat and boot! What a fun detail! The image was then cut out using the coordinating Christmas Puppies Die Set to add to her card. 

For the card base, she created a layered pattern by mixing TWO stencils together! First, she used our Pawprints Stencil with some ink blending to create the base layer. Then she went over the top of that using our Snowfall Stencil with texture paste. What a fun effect! 

The final details is the sentiment "Happy Holi-dogs" embossed in white on a black banner that was die cut using our Frames & Flags Die Set. This cheeful holiday card would be perfect for sending to any of the dog lovers on your holiday card list!

Hug in a Mug Grid Card by Farhana Sarker

So Many Mugs! 

Today we are sharing a mug filled card by Farhana that is sure to make you feel warm and cozy! 

For this card she features the fun mugs from our Cup of Cocoa Stamp Set. She colored them all in rainbow of fun bright colors using copic markers. For her card today she cut them out by hand, but if you don't like to fussy cut you could use the coordinating Cup of Cocoa Die Set. 

Once all the mugs were cut and colored she created a fun square layout for her card. She cut out a square and then applied thin washi tape in a grid pattern to mask the large square into 12 smaller squares. She used distress inks over the tape to make that gorgeous rainbow background. Then she removed the tape, leaving the white grid lines. What a fun idea! 

She placed a mug in each square, except the center where she added the sentiment "hug in a mug!" from the Cup of Cocoa Stamp Set. 

What a fun way to send some colorful cheer over the cold winter days!

Snow Angel Gift Tags by Larissa Heskett

Snow Angel Tags 

Today we are sharing and fun set of snow angel tags by Larissa that are sure to dress up any gift!

To create these fun gift tags she started by stamping the cute puppy and kitty snow angels from our Snow Angel Puppy Stamp Set and our Snow Angel Newton Stamp Set. She colored the images beautifully, using neutral browns and grays for their fur and added fun teal and purples for their hats and scarves! So cute! She also added pink cheeks and little dot details and highlights using a white gel pen!

To make these cuties into tags she used the coordinating Snow Angel Puppy Die Set and Snow Angel Newton Die Set to cut the images out. Then she cut a second set of each snow angel, using the same die shape. This time she cut it from piece of white paper that was folded in half and set that lower inside the die when she cut it out. This creates a shape that matches up with the front shape and creates a tag that opens! How cool! 

Here is the Puppy version with the tag opened up. She added the "Merry Christmas" sentiment inside the tag using our Snow Much Cheer Stamp Set. So adorable! 

She also used the fun bold snowflake from our Jolly Tags Stamp Set and made it into a little round tag using our Tags Times Two Die Set.

And here is the kitty version with the tag opened up. On this one she stamped "Warm Holiday Wishes" inside the tag using our Snow Much Cheer Stamp Set. 

How fun are these custom shaped tags!? You could do this with many of our die sets to create special tags for your holiday gifts this year!

Mailing Christmas Magic Card by Tatiana Trafimovich

Mail Christmas Magic!

Today we are sharing this adorable holiday card by Tatiana that combines two fun stamp sets to create a magical holiday mailbox scene! 

For this card, Tatiana used the cute image of the kitty and puppy mailing Christmas letters from our Holiday Post Stamp Set. She colored the image using holiday red and green with a pop of teal! So cute! The image was cut out using the Holiday Post Die Set to add it to her scene. 

For her scene, she started with a small slimline card (sized 6" x 3 1/2"). She then created a blue sky using distress inks and stamped the sentiment and snowflakes into the sky from our Holiday Home Stamp Set. Then she added layers of snowy hills using our Land Borders Die Set. On each layer she added cute little clusters of trees from our Holiday Home Stamp Set, cutting them out with the coordinating Holiday Home Die Set. Over the whole scene she also added little white dots to look like a snowy sky. So pretty!

Cozy Winter Fawns Card by Tina Herbeck

Cozy Woodland Deer

Today Tina has created an adorable woodland winter scene that is perfect for sending warm and cozy wishes on a winter day!

For this fun card she started by stamping and coloring the duo of fawns from our Deer Friend Stamp Set. She cut the images out using the coordinating Deer Friend Die Set. Next, she created a winter scene for them to nestle in. She started with a wintery sky that was created using our Petite Snow Stencil with white texture paste over a blue inked background. She left a spot in the sky to add in the "Peace, Love, & Joy" sentiment, stamped and embossed from our Heartfelt Holidays Stamp Set. This panel was cut out using our Frames & Flags Die Set to give it a sweet scalloped edge. Next, she added a snowy hill along the bottom, using our Land Borders Die Set to create the hill and again the Frames & Flags Die Set to match up the edge with the background. 

For the forest of trees she used the tall tree die cut from our Forest Scene Builder Die Set. After the trees were cut she colored them by hand to give them some dimension. What a lovely effect!

The final touch is a sprinkle of white paint splatters over the trees and deer. These sweet little deer look so cozy snuggled up in the snow! The recipient of this card is sure to feel the warm and cozy wishes!

Cozy Cats & Coffee Card by Zsofia Molnar

Cozy Kitties and Coffee!

Today we are sharing a cozy card by Zsofia with two of our favorite things: Coffee and Kitties! For this sweet card she combined our Newton's Antics and Time for Coffee stamp sets! What a purr-fect pairing!

She stamped and colored the image of the two cozy kitties, along with two balls of yard and a toy mouse from our Newton's Antics Stamp Set. She colored the kitties in soft grays and chose teal for the yarn and pink for the mouse. Next, she stamped the image of the french press and two coffee mugs from the Time for Coffee Stamp Set. She matched the colors on the mugs to the mouse and added teal to the top and handle of the french press to coordinate with the yarn. Such sweet colors! All the images were cut out using the coordinating Newton's Antics Die Set and Time for Coffee Die Set.

For her card, she cut a strip of white to match the width of the card and arranged all the die cut elements on top, leaving room on the right side for the sentiment, stamped in teal from the Time for Coffee Stamp Set. She added a teal scalloped border along the top and bottom, using our Sky Borders Die Set. 

For the card background, she used the coffee bean patterned paper from our Coffee House Stories Paper Pad. These elements all work so purr-fectly together, don't you think!?
