Frosty Folks Card by November Guest Designer Sybil Brewer

Today we are introducing our Guest Designer for November, Sybil Brewer! We can't wait to share what she creates for us this month! Sybil will be back each Monday for the month of November with a new project! Keep reading to find out more about her today and to check out her first project below.
Hi there, I'm Sybil, and I've been paper crafting for several years but it was the introduction to alcohol makers that my childhood love of coloring returned full force. My husband and I live in Missouri and are long time empty nesters, well almost as our golden retriever Hailey is definitely our baby! When I'm not creating cards to send to friends and family you will find me scrapbooking the hours away.

Hi Crafty Friends, Sybil here and I’m tickled pink to be guest designing for Newton’s Nook Designs this month! Here in Missouri where I live it’s getting down right chilly which means freezin’ season is right around the corner. With that in mind I decided to create a winter card featuring the Frosty Folks Stamp Set and Snowfall Stencil

First, I created the background by applying Tumbled Glass oxide ink onto Bristol Smooth cardstock with the stencil. I added washi tape to the stencil to prevent it from moving while I added the ink. Then I added Versamark ink on top of the snowflakes on the Snowfall Stencil, followed by clear embossing powder, which once melted with my heat gun, gave the snowflakes a pretty raised and glossy  effect.

With my background done I moved onto the adorable Frosty Folks Stamp Set. I copic colored the family of snow-people making sure to use a light grey marker on the bodies to give definition and a snowy appearance. Once I finished coloring I fussy cut the image, added foam adhesive to the back and placed it and the sentiment onto the background. I added this to an A2 card base, adhered some sparkly gems to a few of the snowflakes and the card was completed.
