I’m a SoCal gal, married to her high school sweetheart and have three kids, boy/girl twins and a little guy that is 6 years younger than them, who keeps my heart and my schedule super full! :)

Here's what Thi created:

Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Week - Snowman Card by Guest Designer Thi Lam | Snow Much Cheer Stamp Set and Evergreens Stencil by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

This cozy snowman card will steal your heart! Thi created this card using a trio of the snowmen from our Snow Much Cheer Stamp Set. Aren't these snowy friends so cute getting ready for the holidays? She stamped and colored the snowmen using gorgeous soft colors. The rosy pink cheeks and softly colored edges really make them pop off the card!

For the card base she created a lovely winter scene using our Evergreens Stencil to create a forest of trees over a softly inked blue sky. She added the sentiment "Warm holiday wishes", also from the Snow Much Cheer Stamp Set in between the trees, stamping it in red. She also added white paint splatters over the trees and sky to look like snow flurries!

Today's Featured guest is

Audrey Tokach

My name is Audrey Tokach. I am a happily married wife, and mom to two amazing boys. I was born and raised in the Philadelphia suburbs but became a Florida transplant about 17  years ago.  I am an animal lover and coffee addict.  When I am not busy taking care of my boys, or my little animal menagerie,  you can find me making cards or coloring. I have a fun, whimsical style, and I love bright colors and cutesy images. I can’t live without my Copic markers, Distress ink and Oxides, or my watercolors, but I love experimenting with other coloring mediums as well. I am so excited to be joining the Newton's Nook team as a guest this month!  I'd love for you to follow me on social media if you like what you see!  I can be found on Instagram or on my blog, Pink Ink Originals. Thanks so much to Newton's Nook for having me! :)

Here's what Audrey created:

Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Week - Santa Card by Guest Designer Audrey Tokach | Dear Santa Stamp Set and Cascading Stars Stencil by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Here comes Santa Claus! This adorable card features our Dear Santa Stamp Set. Audrey colored the image of Santa holding a giant stack of gift. Her color combo is so fun with traditional red and green with added brown kraft wrapping paper and pops of teal and pink! She also added fun white accents using a white gel pen. She also stamped three additional little gifts using the same Dear Santa Stamp Set and colored them to coordinate. For her card today, she fussy cut the images out by hand, but if you don't like to fussy cut, there is a coordinating Dear Santa Die Set available in our shop.

For her background she created a super fun starry sky using our Cascading Stars Stencil with red ink. She added extra ink to the edges and faded it to the middle to highlight the spot where she added Santa. She also added some gold to some of the stars to give a special shimmery touch! Who doesn't love a little sparkle for the holidays?  The sentiment "Here comes Santa Claus" that was also stamped using our Dear Santa Stamp Set. She used a gold marker to fill in the letters in Santa too, perfect for coordinating with the gold stars! Do you like the little strip of green striped paper up the side? That is from our Meowy Christmas Paper Pad

Thanks so much, Audrey for being our guest today! She will be back for our Deck the Halls with Inky Paws blog hop on Friday, December 3rd. Until then, you can visit her at her blog, Pink Ink Originals to read more about her adorable projects and say hello!

Evergreens Christmas Card Trio by November Guest Designer Sybil Brewer

Guest Designer, Sybil Brewer for Newton's Nook Designs

Hello there everyone! It’s been a real pleasure and delight to be a guest designer this month, so that means today I will be sharing my final projects for the blog.

Evergreen Trees Holiday Cards by Guest Designer Sybil Brewer | Evergreens Stencil, Holiday Home Stamp Set and Snow Globe Scenes Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Christmas cards are great to make multiples of and give as gifts, with envelopes and stamps included. Today I’m sharing 3 easy to make cards, using the same products on each one but changing the color combinations.  I start with the beautiful Evergreens Stencil. I ensure it won’t shift while I work by taping it onto my paper with washi.  I chose 4 or 5 different inks within the same color family, and beginning with the first tree, I apply the darkest ink, continuing my way down to the lightest color on the last tree. I didn’t mind if there was any overlapping of colors, as it just added to the beauty of the trees.

When the inking was finished, I added glitter glue to the center tree, and once that was dry I removed my stencil, and washed and dried it well. I repeated this whole process 2 more times with my other color combos.

Next I cut 3 vellum strips and white embossed my sentiments and snowflakes onto each one. I taped the vellum onto the back of my card panel, then adhered the panel to a coordinating card mat and then onto my card base. I finished off each card by adding some pretty sequins, and now they are ready to give individually or as a gift set. The sentiments I used on my cards are from the Snow Globe Scenes Stamp Set & Holiday Home Stamp Set. They were perfect for these holiday cards.

Cup of Thanks Cat Card by Jennifer Jackson | Coffee House Stories Paper Pad, Newton’s Mug Stamp Set, Frames &. Flags Die Set and Circle Frames Die Set by Newton’s Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Today I have created a Thank You card featuring our BRAND NEW Coffee House Stories Paper Pad. I am having so much fun creating with the patterns from this new paper pad! Today I chose two coffee themed patterns to make a fun background for my card. I trimmed the two papers to fit inside the large scalloped frame from our Frames & Flags Die Set. I added a ribbon to separate the two paper designs.

Then I stamped the cute kitty in a mug from our Newton's Mug Stamp Set with waterproof ink. This stamp set includes several sentiments that fit on the mug front. For this card I chose the sentiment "A Big Cup of Thanks."Then I used watercolor markers and cut out the image, giving him gray fur and stripes so that he looks a little like my own gray kitty! I cut the image out using the coordinating Newton's Mug Die Set. I also layered two circles behind the kitty image, cutting them from white paper and vellum using our Circle Frames Die Set

Peace and Joy Card by Samantha VanArnhem

Peace and Joy Card by Samantha VanArnhem | Holiday Home Stamp Set, Circle Frames Die Set and Land Borders Die Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmadePeace and Joy Card by Samantha VanArnhem | Holiday Home Stamp Set, Circle Frames Die Set and Land Borders Die Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Peace & Joy!

Today Samantha has created a gorgeous holiday card, perfect for celebrating traditions of the season! For this card she featured the image of the two kids pulling home a Christmas tree from our Holiday Home Stamp Set. She colored the image in gorgeous, using mostly neutrals with pops of red and blue. The image was cut out using the coordinating Holiday Home Die Set

For her card, she started with a white card base and cut a circle out of it using our Circle Frames Die Set. Behind the circle she created a scene of snowdrifts using our Land Borders Die Set. She used ink blending for the gorgeous sky and tucked in the cluster of trees along the skyline that were stamped using our Holiday Home Stamp Set. What a fun way to create a focal point on your card!

Last, she stamped the large sentiment, also from the Holiday Home Stamp Set onto the lower right corner, using two tones of blue ink. This is the perfect finishing touch for this holiday scene!

Thanks, Sam, for the inspiration today! To say hello to her and see more of her beautiful creations you can visit Samantha over on her blog, Sam Van Designs!

Season's Greetings Card by Farhana Sarker

Season's Greetings Card by Farhana Sarker | Poinsettia Blooms Stamp Set, Circle Frames Die Set and Holiday Foilage Stencil by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Season's Greetings!

Today we are sharing a beautiful floral holiday card by Farhana featuring our Poinsettia Blooms Stamp Set

She started by stamping two clusters of poinsettias using our Poinsettia Blooms Stamp Set and colored them in lovely tones of red and green. For her card she carefully hand cut the images out but if you don't like to fussy cut, there is a coordinating Poinsettia Blooms Die Set available. She also added little gold gem embellishments around the flower leaves.

For her card, she used our Holiday Foliage Stencil to dry emboss a subtle texture onto a white cardstock base. What a pretty effect!

Then she layered the floral images over the  embossed panel, adhering them on each side of a stitched circle that was cut out using our Circle Frames Die Set. In the center of the circle she added the "season's greetings" sentiment from the Poinsettia Blooms Stamp Set, embossed in gold

Snow Globe Scenes Card & Shaker Ornament by November Guest Designer Sybil Brewer

Hello again, Sybil here sharing a card & shaker ornament set that was such fun to make! I copic colored the images from the Snow Globe Scenes Stamp Set and used the coordinating Snow Globe Scenes Die Set as well.

Snow Globe Scenes Card & Shaker Ornament by November Guest Designer Sybil Brewer | Snow Globe Scenes Stamp Set and Snow Globe Shaker Die Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

For the card I used an oval stencil and blended oxide inks for the night sky and the snowy, bottom portion of the oval. I then embossed the snowflakes, added stars with a white gel pen and stamped the Merry Christmas sentiment. After adding the stamped images and a few gems to the snowflakes, the card was finished once the scene was adhered to a blue card base.

Snow Globe Scenes Card by November Guest Designer Sybil Brewer | Snow Globe Scenes Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

For the shaker ornament I used the same Snow Globe Scenes Stamp Set and color combos as I did for the card. Using the Snow Globe Shaker Die Set, I cut the outline of the globe several times, gluing each layer together until I had the desired thickness for the shaker bits to move about freely, then I attached it to a layer of acetate to create the window.  I prefer this method rather than die cutting foam which can easily get misshapen in the process. After adding a wintry sequin mix, I used a strong glue to attach the scene portion of the globe. I cut out the base twice and put foam in the center of the two pieces so when attached to the globe it would have the same dimension. I attached sequin trim to the back of the globe so it can be hung as a tree ornament or attached to a package.
