More Than Naps Card by Tatiana Trafimovich

Love You More than Naps Kitty Card by Tatiana Trafimovich | Newton's Naptime Stamp Set and Starfield Stencil by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Love You More than Naps!

Today Tatiana has created a magical card featuring our favorite kitty napping among the stars! She features the image of Newton on a giant pile of blankets from our Newton's Naptime Stamp Set. She colored the image using lots of vibrant colors and added texture with colored and white dots. She also added stripes to the kitties fur! So cute! She fussy cut the image out with a scissors but you could also use the coordinating Newton's Naptime Die Set if you don't like to hand cut.

She layered this image over a gorgeous starry background, perfect for dreaming! To create the background she used various distress inks, masking off a circle in a lighter color to leave a spot for the kitty image. She added ink and white paint splatters too. For the stars, she used our Cascading Stars Stencil with white texture paste around the edges of the card, leaving a spot in the center for the image.

Fall Themed Card Duo by Farhana Sarker

Fall themed card set by Farhana Sarker | Paw-tumn Newton Stamp Set, Fall Roundabout Stamp Set, Signs of Fall Stamp Set, Heartfelt Fall Stamp Set, Circle and Heart Frames Die Sets and Basketweave Stencil by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

A Fun Fall Duo!

Today we are sharing two beautiful fall cards by Farhana. These two cards are similar in layout but use different fall products. Let's take a look!

Her first card is fall themed thank you:
Fall themed card set by Farhana Sarker | Paw-tumn Newton Stamp Set, Fall Roundabout Stamp Set, Circle Frames Die Set and Basketweave Stencil by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook
To create this lovely card she first dry embossed the basketweave pattern onto a kraft colored card base using our Basketweave Stencil with an embossing machine to give the card a subtle texture. She then cut a circle out of the front using our Circle Frame Die Set. She stamped the beautiful image of leaves in a circle from our Fall Roundabout Stamp Set on the inside panel of the card, lining it up so that it fit behind the circle cut out. Then she stamped and colored the kitty from our Paw-tumn Newton Stamp Set and cut the image out using the coordinating Paw-tumn Newton Die Set. She layered this onto the front of the card along with the "give thanks" sentiment from the Fall Roundabout Stamp Set, stamped onto a banner that was die cut using our Banner Trio Die Set. So adorable!

Her second card is a fun fall themed card using a similar layout:
Fall themed card set by Farhana Sarker | Signs of Fall Stamp Set, Heartfelt Fall Stamp Set, Heart Frames Die Set and Basketweave Stencil by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook
For this card she started out the same, dry embossing the basketweave pattern onto the kraft colored card base using our Basketweave Stencil. This time instead of a circle, she die cut a scalloped heart out of the front using our Heart Frames Die Set. On the inside panel she stamped the image of leaves in a heart shape from our Heartfelt Fall Stamp Set. Then she stamped and colored the sign with all the fun fall images surrounding it from our Signs of Fall Stamp Set. Aren't those light green pumpkins beautiful!? This set has a bunch of sentiments that fit on the sign and she chose to use the word "welcome" embossed in white. The image was then cut out using the coordinating Signs of Fall Die Set

We hope this set of cards has inspired you! It really shows you how once you have one card layout designed, you can easily change it up by changing out the image or shape!

Candy Corn Counts as a Vegetable, right? Card by September Guest Designer Priscilla Joseph

Newton's Nook Designs Guest Designer, Priscilla Joseph

Hello Crafty Friends!
I am feeling a little bummed that this is my 4th and final post as the September Guest Designer for Newton's Nook Designs. But I certainly enjoyed the opportunity to showcase Newton’s Nook adorable images for you every Monday this month. I want to especially thank Jennifer and Samantha for inviting me to be on the blog. It was an honor!

The hint I posted last week for today’s card was “Should candy corn be included in the ‘Food Pyramid’?” Did you guess that I would be featuring the Candy Corn Stamp Set and Candy Corn Stencil Set? You guessed right!

Candy Corn Counts as a Vegetable Card by September Guest Designer Priscilla Joseph | Candy Corn Stamp Set and Stencil Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

This final card has a touch of “silly” in it as I literally played out the stamp set’s sentiment, “Candy Corn counts as a Vegetable, right?”. I sponged shades of green through the Candy Corn Stencil Set and Copic-colored the candy corn images themselves in those same vegetable green shades.

Card Details:
  • I created an A2 card base and layered green cardstock over it.
  • I used the new 3-piece Candy Corn layered stencil set to create a “three-toned” candy corn background (using dark green, medium green, and white pigment inks on kraft cardstock.) This was so easy to accomplish as all three stencils feature etching of the opposite layers for easy alignment.
  • The candy corn images were stamped and colored with Copic markers and die cut out.
  • I created a planter stand out of green cardstock and cut the top edge with a grass die.
  • The sentiment “Candy Corn counts as a Vegetable, right?” was white heat embossed on top and then adhered over the “planted corn”.

I hope you enjoyed my literal interpretation of this funny stamp sentiment. I know I was giggling just a little as I was creating this card. And I hope I was able to inspire you to make Autumn or Halloween cards using Newton’s Nook products.

Take care!
Priscilla

A Happy Coffee Card!

Today Amanda has created a cozy coffee card with a fun fall color vibe!

This awesome card features the girl curled up in her arm chair with three of our favorite things: a kitty, a book, and a coffee! This image is from our Sips & Stories Stamp Set. She colored the image using neutrals along with pops for teal and red for a fun color combo that feels perfect for fall! The image was cut out using the coordinating Sips & Stories Die Set

For her card she combined a few different elements to create a fun layout. She started by stenciling a panel of green paper with green ink using our Mugs Stencil. Then she cut the panel out using our Framework Die Set to give it that fun postage edge.

Next, she cut out a bright golden yellow tag using our Fancy Edges Tag Die Set. She used the mini edge dies from the same set to add a brown tag topper with a zig zag edge. She also used our Houndstooth Stencil to to add a bit of pattern to the tag.

Harvest Blessings Card by September Guest Designer Priscilla Joseph

Newton's Nook Designs September 2021 Guest Designer Priscilla Joseph
Hello Crafty Friends!

I am delighted to be back for my 3rd blog post as the September Guest Designer for Newton's Nook Designs.

Unlike last week’s card, which featured only black, gray, and white, today’s mini slimline card is bursting with the vibrant and contrasting fall colors of rust and navy. I love this bold combination! My card features the Autumn Newton Stamp Set (coordinating dies are available). This adorable 4 x 6 stamp set showcases Newton participating in lots of fun fall activities. Plus, I used the Falling Leaves Stencil to create a three-dimensional background on the card. And just for fun, I created a mini slimline envelope to match!

Harvest Blessings Card by September Guest Designer Priscilla Joseph | Autumn Newton Stamp Set and Falling Leaves Stencil by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Card Details:
  • I created a mini slimline card base (6” x 7”, scored at 3.5”) out of dark rust card stock.
  • To create the background scene, I used white embossing paste tinted with the “Rusty Hinge” Distress Oxide re-inker and then spread it through the Falling Leaves stencil over navy card stock.
  • The image was colored with Copic markers and die cut out.
  • For added dimension, I paper pieced a navy bow over the stamped bow.
  • I stamped the sentiment “harvest blessing” onto light rust card stock and adhered it and a circle frame onto the embossed leaf background.

  • Finally, the colored image was foam mounted on top of the circle and the card was finished by framing it in the same light rust colored card stock before adhering it to the slimline card base.
  • For a finishing touch, I created a matching mini slimline envelope and used the Falling Leaves stencil and “Rusty Hinge” Distress Oxide ink to add leaves to the front.

I hope you enjoyed today’s vibrant autumn card. Stay tuned for my 4th and final card next week. Here’s a hint – should candy corn be included in “Food Pyramid”?
