Welcome back and Happy Monday Y’all! You might have figured out by now that I am a huge fan of fall themed cards and color schemes, but I also love me some coffee and hot drinks. So for today’s post I decided to change it up and share a pair of winter/holiday themed cards that will be perfect to share with a jar of hot chocolate mix, since the holidays will be very different this year!
To create these cards I started off by stamping all the mug images from the Cup of Cocoa Stamp Set, coloring them with copics and fussy cutting them. I colored them in two very different palettes, one was inspired by some pattern paper, in a pastel winter theme and the second was a more traditional, red and green christmas theme.
For the first card I ink blended the Mugs Stencil using hybrid ink to match the colored images. I trimmed it down, backed it with a piece of pattern paper and added an embossed sentiment on a strip of coordinating pink paper. Lastly I adhered the colored images using foam tape and liquid glue to add some dimension.
For the second card, I started by embossing the kraft card base using the Mugs Stencil, but unfortunately it doesn't show all that well in the picture. Then I layered two types of pattern paper, one embossed with a sentiment from the same Cup of Cocoa Stamp Set as the images. Finally I adhered the images on top of the sentiment strip and done!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you are inspired to create something this week! If you need more inspiration, there’s a fun Halloween themed Inky Paws Challenge! Don’t forget to tag #newtonsnook in the post so that we can all see them! See you all next week!
