Hi everyone, it's Angie Cimbalo here with my 2nd guest design post for August! I'm so happy to be here to share my Newton's Nook card creations with you this month!
Today I have 2 cards made with Newton Loves Cake Stamp Set stamp and die set, one slimline and one A2 sized card using the same products for both.
Here's a look at the slimline card first:
The cake-hungry kitties were colored with Spectrum Noir pastel markers and Prismacolor Pencils. Two of them were attached to black sentiment strips that were heat embossed in white.
All the images and sentiments were popped up on foam tape onto a background panel made from thin vellum paper pack by Creative Devotion. The paper is not quite large enough to cover the slimline design so I used 2 pieces with the "seam" connecting them hidden under the middle image/sentiment strip. The background was adhered to the card base with vellum adhesive.
Here's another view of my card:
Here's my 2nd card, and A2 size card made with the same goodies!
This card was made the same way, except for the background I stacked 4 layers of the vellum on top of each other so that the colors and splatters would be more vibrant. Also because the card is smaller I only used 2 of the images and a different sentiment.
I love the "from scratch" part of the sentiment - it just makes me smile!
Here's another look:
The Newton Loves Cake Stamp Set is one of my all time favorite Newton's Nook sets! The images are so cute and the sentiments are just fun!
I hope I've inspired you to create some sweet "cake" cards for your family and friends. They are perfect for anyone who loves cake!
I'll be back later in the month with some more creations to share with you, and thanks again to Jennifer and Samantha for inviting me to guest design this August - it's been soooo fun!
