Have a Llama Fun Birthday Card by Ellen Haxelmans

Have a Llama Fun Birthday Card by Ellen Haxelmans | Loveable Llamas, Sunscape Stencil, Land Borders Die Set and Framework Die Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Have a Llama Fun!

Today Ellen has created an adorable llama birthday card using fun bright colors and flock!

For this lovely card she started out by coloring the images of the llama, potted cactus and gifts from our Loveable Llamas Stamp Set. She colored the images in gorgeous bright colors and added a fun speckled fur texture on the llama! For the sunglasses she stamped them on vellum with black ink and then added sparkles with irridescent embossing powder. She cut all the images out using the coordinating Loveable Llamas Die Set.

For the amazing background she used our Sunscape Stencil with flocking (see tips below) and then added a couple of hills along the bottom that were cut out using our Land Borders Die Set to set the scene.  She also used our Framework Die Set to create the postage edged frame around the whole scene. Adorable!

Tips on Flocking

Below we have some tips from Ellen on how she used flocking sheets on her background:

  • First I inked a rectangular piece with Distress Ink in pink colors.
  • Next I added the neon yellow flock on top using the Sunscape Stencil. To hold the stencil in place, you can spray the back of your stencil with an adhesive spray or use removable tape.  I laid the stencil over the background and spread Deco Foil Transfer Gel Blanco on the background. Let the piece dry.
  • When it’s dry you place the neon yellow flock sheet (with the flock side down) on the background and heat set it using a laminator.
  • It looks fun as it it, but it’s even more awesome when you stamp on the flock! I stamped the sentiment from the Loveable Llamas Stamp Set onto the round sun shape in the flocked area!
