I've always enjoyed crafting since I was young. I discovered card making quite a few years ago and then Copic markers and the combination had me hooked.
I'm super excited to be guest designing this month for Newton's Nook! I hope you enjoy!
Hello Everyone, Lori here today and I'm so exited to be guest designing for Newton's Nook!
Today I'll be using the cute Puppy Playtime Stamp Set! Aren't those puppies the cutest?
I began my card by trimming a white A2 card base from #80 Neenah Solar White cardstock. I die cut the red and white gingham paper with a stitched rectangle die and used two different sized circle dies to die cut a piece of blue cardstock and a piece of Neenah cardstock.
I stamped the birthday hat first with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and masked the hat with masking paper. I wanted the hat on the puppy's head, in order to accomplish that I had to stamp it first, mask it, and then stamp the puppy. I used an acetate grid to help me line it up perfectly. I Copic colored the images, and then added grass and a blue sky with my Copics, leaving white spaces in the sky that resembles clouds.
When I finished coloring I then began assembling my card by using liquid glue to adhere the gingham paper to my card base and the blue cardstock on top. I popped up the puppy with foam tape and added a bow with red and white twine. I then used a flag banner die to die cut a piece of black cardstock and a piece of yellow and white gingham paper. I white heat embossed the sentiment Birthday Wishes & Puppy Kisses on the black cardstock. I adhered the gingham flag with liquid glue and used thin foam tape to pop up the sentiment at an angle.
I then die cut another piece of the yellow and white gingham paper from the same rectangle die for the inside of my card along with a smaller rectangle from Neenah #80 cardstock. On the Neenah I stamped another puppy and the sentiment You ARF the best! in light blue ink.I adhered them both with liquid glue.
To finish my card I added white highlights on the front of my card with a Gelly Roll pen, shimmer with my Nuvo Shimmer pen, and acrylic bubbles.
And that finishes my card for today! I'll be back next week with another card.
Thanks so much for stopping by today and thank you to Newton's Nook for having me!
