Hello everyone! I'm back for my 3rd post as guest designer and I'm really excited about this one because this is my first bokeh background.
But first I colored up these 2 adorable ice cream eating kitties from the Newton's Summer Treats Stamp Set. I'm getting in a summer mood because I'm going on vacation soon. And a sunny vacation and ice cream just goes together, right?!
I wanted to match the background with the kitties so I inked up a panel with matching distress inks. I wasn't careful with the blending at all. Once it had dried I grabbed a stencil with different sizes of circles in it. The Bokeh Stencil Set from Newton's Nook would work perfectly for this technique. I used a white pigment ink starting with the larger circles and ending with the smaller ones, making sure they overlapped. It was one of those "just one more" moments and I just had to stop myself in the end.
I kept it really simple so not to hide the bokeh background. I cut the panel with a rectangle die, popped up the kitties and added a sentiment to a strip of white cardstock. This sentiment is so true! Especially with my daughter, ice cream really does solve everything!
Hope you enjoyed! Happy crafting, people!
