Hoppy Spring Card by April Guest Designer Candice Fisher

We are in full happy Springtime mode here and I had to create a card to go along with my happy mood!  This is my final card and thank you for all the love this month and thank you Newton's Nook Designs for having me hang out with you this month!
I know I am not the only one who has fallen in love with the cuties in the Woodland Spring Stamp Set, and again, I couldn’t just pick one from the set (are you noticing a reoccurring trend with me?!)
Hoppy Spring Card by April Guest Designer Candice Fisher | Woodland Spring Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade
This card was a pretty quick one, even though it looks very detailed! Bonus! I started this by trimming watercolor paper a little smaller than my card base and inking with squeezed lemonade, worn lipstick, and shaded lilac. I took that inked piece and cut the words out using my cameo silhouette. I then inked another watercolor paper with scattered straw, spun sugar, and milled lavender to go under to words and glued the two together. Next, I splattered with a paint brush with white paint dipped in water. I set it aside to dry.

I stamped the adorable images from Woodland Spring Stamp Set, colored with copic markers, and used the coordinating dies to cut out. The sentiment I stamped on a banner and pop dotted on the card. Next, I added the adorable spring cuties by the words with pop dots.

For the finishing touches, I added the sequins in varying sizes and added some white nuvo drops near the sequins and pearl stickles to the center of the flowers.
I hope you have been inspired by my creations this wonderful spring month and thank you again for the chance to share with you all!

I Love Books (and cats)!

Happy Friday! Hope you are ready for the weekend! Maybe you'll even have some time to relax and read a good book! To get you inspired, today we are sharing a cute book themed card by Amanda! Merci Card by April Guest Designer Candice Fisher

I can’t believe it is week three already!  We are in full Spring here and I am dreaming of Paris with Newton!
I can just image how awesome it is in Paris right now and will live through Newton as he travels there in this bright card!
Merci Card by April Guest Designer Candice Fisher | Newton Dreams of Paris Stamp Set and Bokeh Stencil Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade
Of course to create this fun scene I used the Newton Dreams of Paris Stamp Set. I started by using my cameo to create the three rectangles and then ran it through my die cutting machine to get the stitched frame.  For the background, I trimmed some watercolor paper to fit behind the frame and inked with squeezed lemonade, tumbled glass, and broken china. I then took the circle stencil #1 from the Bokeh Stencil Set and added white ink over for a faint circle impression. I lined up the Eiffel tower and stamped with versafine black ink and added a green stitched hill.

I stamped the Paris Newtons, hot air balloon, and clouds, colored with copic markers, and fussy cut out, but you can get the coordinating dies to make your life easier! To create the scene, I added a die cut sun that I inked with squeezed lemonade to the top left. I lined up the frame and stamped the merci directly onto the frame and then pop dotted on the card base. Next, I added the cuties in Paris, gluing and pop dotting to get them secure.

For my embellishments, I added a variety of different sequins and added some white pen dots to the images.

Birthday Clucks Card by Jennifer Jackson

Birthday Clucks Card by Jennifer Jackson | Cluck Stamp Set, Speech Bubbles Die Set and Hardwood Stencil by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Birthday Clucks!

Hello! Jen here today with a fun chicken themed birthday card using our Cluck Stamp Set! This new chicken stamp set has so many fun puns and is perfect for creating silly birthday cards! For this card I stamped the trio of chickens, the hen sitting on the nest and the little chick from the stamp set. I colored all the images with copics and then cut them out using the coordinating Cluck Die Set. I wanted to stack the chickens in the middle of the card so I added them over a dark brown piece of cardstock and cut out two speech bubbles using our Speech Bubbles Die Set. I added the sentiments "What the cluck?" and "The talk around the henhouse is..." into the speech bubbles and then stamped the "It's your Birthday" sentiment on the bottom of the panel. I love how you can mix and match the funny sentiments in this set together to create a custom message.  For the background I used our new Hardwood Stencil to create a fun woodgrain panel.

A Sweet Hello!

Today Andrea created the cutest little scene for our kitty to hang out in! She started with the adorable image of the kitty and birdhouse from our new Newton's Birdhouse Stamp Set. She colored the image of the kitty using copics and added all kind of details! The stripes and white paws on the kitty are so lovely and she also accented the image by adding little highlights with a white gel pen. Then she cut the image out using the Newton's Birdhouse Die Set to add to her scene.

Believe In Your Dreams Card by April Guest Designer Candice Fisher

It’s Springtime and for me that means coming out of hibernation from being buried in snow here in Minnesota!
I think this card using Newton Makes Plans Stamp Set is perfect for all the activities I can now go out and do!
The inspiration for this card comes from my daughter in college and son who is about to graduate high school.  I look at all the different Newtons in this set and see all the dreams that my kids can do!

Believe In Your Dreams Card by April Guest Designer Candice Fisher | Newton Makes Plans Stamp Set, Once Upon a Princess Stamp Set and Bokeh Stencil Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade
To begin my card, I trimmed watercolor paper to the size of my card and inked it with spun sugar oxide ink.  I then used the Bokeh Stencil Set to create the circles, first with worn lipstick and then second with abandoned coral. The awesome thing about this stencil set is that they have very faint lines of the circles from the other stencil for easy lining up! Genius! I felt that the eye wasn’t drawn in, so I added a light inking of abandoned coral around the edges.
Believe In Your Dreams Card by April Guest Designer Candice Fisher | Newton Makes Plans Stamp Set, Once Upon a Princess Stamp Set and Bokeh Stencil Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade
I die cut the frame and inked each square along the bottom with cracked pistachio.  I pop dotted the frame at an angle and glued the squares in the center of each and trimmed the bottom with scissors.  For the rectangle I stamped the sentiment from the Once upon a Princess Stamp Set.  Next, I stamped all the mini Newtons, colored with copic markers, and die cut them out with the coordinating dies.  I am in love with mini stamps and I definitely recommend the coordinating dies to make it easier, (I, of course, have to use all of them on one card)!
Believe In Your Dreams Card by April Guest Designer Candice Fisher | Newton Makes Plans Stamp Set, Once Upon a Princess Stamp Set and Bokeh Stencil Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade
To finish this fun card, I simply added the die cut you layered along the top.  I tried sequins and other accents, but it seemed to take away from these cuties so I kept it simple.  A hard concept for me to not add sparkle or shine!
Just an FYI, my daughter is currently either the Newton in the laundry basket sleeping or the one buried in the book, while my son is the one exercising or joining his sister in the laundry basket!
I am so glad that you swung by and wish you a happy week!
Remember, you can always join in the Inky Paws Challenge for your chance to win!
