Hi, everyone! Toni of Frankie Helps Craft with my second guest design card for January. I think this one is my favorite of the lot. Love plaid much? Why yes I do!
I started the card by using the Plaid Stencil with Distress Oxides Candied Apple and Peacock Feathers. I then added snowflakes using the Snowfall stencil and a white pigment ink. What a fantastic combo. I love it! I set that aside to dry fully while I colored up the Sweater Weather Critters using Copics that coordinated with the plaid. Swoon!
I next die cut the aperture and sponged the card base lightly with the Peacock Blue Distress Oxide for the background beneath the critters. I used a white pigment pen to add a few dotty snowflakes. Now when it came time for the sentiment, I originally embossed it in white directly onto the plaid but it was visually lost. See what I mean?
Embossing it on the blue strip made such a difference. Btw, I sponged the blue strip with the Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide, ombre-style. Love!
Now I didn't stop there. Recall I had cut the aperture from the plaid layer and was certainly not going to let that go to waste! I used it as a backdrop for one of the Loveable Llamas with a big pile of birthday presents on its back. So cute!
Thanks for joining me today! See you next week!
Love how the stencils are paired together! Looks really wonderful!!!
