2018 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!

Today I'm playing along with the FALL/WINTER Coffee Lovers Blog hop!

Here's what I created:

We have several coffee themed sets so it's hard to choose but I decided to work with the cute kitty from our Sending Hugs Stamp Set for my card today.  I love this set so much because the coordinating die set cuts around the arms which allows you to add in accessories for the characters to hold. On this card, I added in the little coffee cup tucked into his arms to go with our coffee them today. For the background I created a fun blue and mint plaid pattern using our new Plaid Stencil Set. This set includes two pieces that easily line up so you can create plaid patterns in multiple colors! It's SO fun to use! 

After I had the plaid background panel created, I cut it into scallop using our Frames & Flags Die Set. I also cut a stripe of white and of mint paper using the same die set and stacked them together over the plaid. I stamped the "sending smiles" sentiment from the Sending Hugs Stamp Set on the mint stripe and added some bright blue twine to finish out the card! This was so simple to make and I LOVE how it turned out!

By the way - Newton would be a big fan of this blog hop since he really DOES LOVE COFFEE! I can't leave it unguarded or he will come stick his paw into the mug and then lick it! Silly kitty!

Set of Winter Bird Cards by Ellen Haxelmans

If you like birds, you will love this gorgeous set of cards today by Ellen! She created a card featuring each of the bird images in our new Winter Birds Stamp Set! She created this collection of cards using similar elements but tweaking each design to show how you can make similar yet unique creations! What a beautiful collection of projects. Continue reading to see the details on each card below! 

For the first card, Ellen featured the Cardinal from the Winter Birds Stamp Set. She colored the image of the bird and branch using copic markers and cut the images out using the coordinating Winter Birds Die Set. She also added in some holly leaves from on the branch using the Poinsettia Blooms Stamp Set. She layered this over a lovely distress inked sky and embossed the "Season's Greetings" sentiment onto the sky using our Ornamental Wishes Stamp Set. To add a little whimsy she added in some stars from the Cosmic Newton Stamp Set too. 

The second bird card by Ellen features the Nuthatch image from the Winter Birds Stamp Set.  Just like the previous card, she colored the image of the bird, branch and berries using copic markers and cut the images out using the coordinating Winter Birds Die Set. For this card she chose a lighter blue background color behind the bird and added a bit of snow to the background panel using our Petite Snow Stencil. She also used our Frames & Flags Die Set to cut out the stitched, rounded edge rectangle. The sentiment is from our Poinsettia Blooms Stamp Set.

On third card by Ellen she goes back to a darker blue background like her first card and features the Chickadee image from the Winter Birds Stamp Set. She colored the image of the bird and branch using copic markers and cut the images out using the coordinating Winter Birds Die Set. She added in a little piece of pine from our Poinsettia Blooms Stamp Set and an acorn from the Autumn Newton Stamp Set. she also added in a few snowflakes on vellum from the Winter Birds Stamp Set.  She embossed the sentiment onto the sky using our Ornamental Wishes Stamp Set. She also used our Frames & Flags Die Set to cut out the stitched, rounded edge rectangle. 

For the last card, Ellen featured the Blue Jay from the Winter Birds Stamp Set. She colored that lovely bird using copic markers, adding such gorgeous detail with dots and color blending! She cut the bird, branch and berries out using the coordinating Winter Birds Die Set. On this card she created a fun sun in the background using our Sunscape Stencil. The sentiment is from the Winter Birds Stamp Set and she added in some music notes from the Llama Delivery Stamp Set too. Again, she used the our Frames & Flags Die Set to cut out the stitched, rounded edge rectangle.

Wishing Choo-Choo a Merry Christmas Card by Samantha Mann

Wishing Choo-Choo a Merry Christmas!

This card by Samantha is so perfect for a fun Christmas Greeting! She used that cute image of Santa driving the train and the train car filled with gifts and a reindeer from our All Aboard for Christmas Stamp Set. She colored the images and trimmed them out using our All Aboard for Christmas Die Set, adding in some smoke clouds too! For her card she created a fun snowy sky using our Starfield Stencil with some embossing paste. She also added in a snowy hill using our Land Borders Die Set. To finish out the card she embossed the sentiment from the All Aboard for Christmas Stamp Set  in white on a banner that was cut out using the banner from our Frames & Flags Die Set. So cute!

I Believe in Santa Card by Juliana Michaels

Santa Paws! 

Today Juliana created this adorable holiday card by combing two holiday sets together. She used that cute Santa kitty from our Santa Paws Newton Stamp Set and the adorable pups from the Happy Howl-idays Stamp Set to create a fun scene! She also added in a fun little pile of gifts from the Loveable Llamas Stamp Set. She colored all the images using copic markers and then cut them out using the coordinating die sets (Happy Howl-idays Die Set, Santa Paws Newton Stamp Set, and Loveable Llamas Die Set), She kept the card base simple, adding a fun postage edged border using our Framework Die Set.

Make the Moose Out of Life Card by Maria Russell

Make the MOOSE out of Life!

Today we are headed to the slopes for some winter fun with this moose card by Maria! She created this fun card featuring our new moose from the Moose Mountain Stamp Set. Isn't he so cute in his snowboarding gear!? She colored the moose using copic markers and adde him to the winter scene on her card. To created that fun winterly look she added birch trees on each side of the card using our Forest Scene Builder Die Set. The little cardinals were also cut out using the Forest Scene Builder Die Set and she added cute little black beaks on them.  She also added the fun clouds using our Sky Borders Die Set. She added cute little red berries in each snowbank too, using our Winter Birds Stamp Set and Winter Birds Die Set to cut them out.

Be Merry Slothy Christmas Card by Guest Designer Kelli Cool

Hey everyone! Today is my last Guest Blog post for Newton's Nook and I've had such a good time! Today I used the Slothy Christmas Stamp Set and die set.

I colored him using Copics and added some glitter to his hat along the brim and the poof on the end! I covered the glitter with Glossy Accents to seal it in so it wouldn't get everywhere.

Then, I die cut BE and MERRY from the Holiday Greetings Die Set. I love this die set because you can use it in so many different ways!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We hope everyone is having a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday! We want to take a moment today to thank YOU, all of our AMAZING customers and fans! We are hope you are spending our day today with family, filling up on turkey and relaxing and we come back and join us for our big Black Friday and Weekend sales starting Tomorrow. I did want to take time to share a card today as well! To make this lovely Thanksgiving card, I started out with our that cute kitty image from our Newton's Conucopia. I colored the image using watercolor markers and cut it out with the coordinating Newton's Cornucopia Die Set. For the card base, I stenciled the log background using our Tree Rings Stencil with dark brown ink on kraft cardstock. Then I layered everything together, adding the sentiment onto a banner that was cut out using our  Frames & Flags Die Set. I added a little orange scalloped edge using a scrap of paper I cut using our Sky Borders Die Set and finished it off with a piece of  twine! So perfect and fitting for Thanksgiving!

This card by Juliana is perfect for a New Years celebration! She combined the two sets revealed today, using the kitty with the champagne bottle from the new Newton's New Year Stamp Set with the kitty raising his glass from the Newton Celebrates Stamp Set. She cut out the black stitched rectangle panel using our Frames & Flags Die Set.  For the background she used shiny gold foil with our Confetti Stencil! 

This fun card by Zsofia is perfect for a party or birthday card any time of year! She used the kitty in the Martini glass from our new Newton Celebrates Stamp Set. She added on the party hat and layered the image of a fun blue sun ray background using our Sunscape Stencil. She added on the word Party" using die cut letters from our Essential Alphabet Die Set and adding in some gold party streamers using our Balloon Shaker Die Set. 

This Happy New Year card by Naki is so celebratory! She used the images from our new Newton's New Year Stamp Set, coloring the kitty with fun shades of gold and navy. Then she used the coordinating  Newton's New Year Die Set to cut the outline of the kitty in several colors to layer behind him for a fun effect! For the background she repeatedly stamped the "cheers" and added some confetti in lime green!

This adorable birthday card was created by Holly using our new Newton Celebrates Stamp Set. She added the birthday hat to the kitty in the Martini glass and added it to her card with fun bright colored papers! She also used our Frames & Flags Die Set to cut out the Scalloped Edged panel, stitched rectangle panel and banner for the sentiment! 

Time to party with Newton and his friends on this adorable card by Tatiana! She used the images from our new Newton Celebrates Stamp Set to create a fun party theme. She colored the images in fun bright colors and cut them  out with the coordinating die set. She layered them over a fun confetti background that was created using our Confetti Stencil. Perfect for a celebration or birthday card!

Samantha created an adorable tag that would be perfect to tie onto a bottle for a celebratory gift! She used the kitty from our Newton's New Year Stamp Set, along with two champagne flutes. She added the fun images to a tag that was cut out using our Fancy Edges Tag Die Set. She finished it out with the "Cheers" die cut from our Cocktail Mixer Die Set

Maria created a fun shaker card that is perfect for a New Years Celebration! She used the kitty with the champagne bottle and the champagne flutes from our Newton's New Year Stamp Set! She added them to her fun shaker filled with tiny stars. Along the bottom she created a big scalloped border using our Sky Borders Die Set. 

If you are throwing a Holiday party, this card by Amanda would be perfect for creating invitations! She used the image of Newton in the cocktail glass from our Newton Celebrates Stamp Set and colored the drink bright green! Then she paired this with fun red and green patterned paper and the "let's party sentiment." Perfect for Holiday celebrations! 

Ellen also created a little gift tote using our two new sets together. She used the kitty with the champagne bottle from the new Newton's New Year Stamp Set with the kitty raising his glass from the Newton Celebrates Stamp Set. She also added in the "Cheers" die cut from our from our Cocktail Mixer Die Set. For the background she created a lovely yellow and orange argyle pattern using our new Argyle Stencil Set! What fun!

This amazing card by Larissa would be perfect for a Holiday Party! She used the image of the kitty in the martini glass from our Newton Celebrates Stamp Set and added on the hat, coloring it in candy cane stripes! For that amazing background she used BOTH our new Plaid and Argyle Stencil Sets. She layered the Plaid using one of the stencils twice to get a 3 color pattern. Then she added the argyle on top using foil! What a fun technique!
