Hi everyone! I'm Sindhu from India. I live with my husband and our 3 year old son who just started preschool. I have been paper crafting for over 6 years and now when I think of it, I wonder why I hadn't started earlier. :) I am a Clean and Simple (CAS) lover although I try other styles quite often. I am also a lover of all things critter. I find colouring very therapeutic and my latest obsession is Copic colouring.
I'm thrilled to be joining Newton's Nook as a Guest Designer for September! I hope that you will like what I share with you every Monday through out September here.
Thank you so much, Jennifer and Samantha for this opportunity!
Hello everyone! Sindhu here. I'm thrilled to be Guest Designing for Newton's Nook Designs this month! Thank you so much for this opportunity, Jennifer and Samantha! Today, I have a couple of summer theme cards to share. I know summer is officially over but to those still longing for it, this is the post for you. :) I combined Newton's Summer Treats and Summer Scoops stamp sets to make my cards. Both the stamp sets are so much fun to play with and go very well together. Here is my first card:
To make this card, I stated by masking a part of the stitched die cut rectangle panel. Then, I sponged ink through the stencil on the upper portion of the panel. Then, I removed the masking paper and masked the stencilled pattern and sponged ink on the lower portion of the panel. The area where the two meet is ideal to ground the images. I stamped the images on a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Mememto Tuxedo black ink and coloured them with copic markers. Then, I fussy cut out the images and arranged them on the stitched rectangle panel. I also applied Wink of Stella shimmer on the ice creams but it doesn't show in the pictures. Stamped the sentiments and adhered the panel to card base. Here are couple more pictures...
Here is my second card...
For my second card, I followed the same steps like I did for the first card. To make this card, I stated by masking a part of the top folding card base. Then, I sponged ink through the stencil on the upper portion of the card base. Then, I removed the masking paper and masked the stencilled pattern and sponged ink on the lower portion. The area where the two meet is ideal to ground the images. I stamped the images on a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Mememto Tuxedo black ink and coloured them with copic markers. I fussy cut out one of the images but used a stitched frame die around the other as I wanted it to be a photo frame on the wall. I also cut the frame in brown multiple time and adhered one over the other to make it look like a frame on the wall. I adhered it on the top right. I in laid the piece with kitty and added the 'hanger' part to the frame.
I adhered the kitty with a bowl of ice cream on the ink sponged 'ground'. I heat embossed the two sentiments on strips of brown cardstock and added them using foam tape
I also added Wink of Stella on the scoops for interest.
Here is a picture with both the cards.
I hope you like the cards I shared. Thank you for visiting! See you again next week... Bye!
