NND Sponsors Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #451

Have you heard of the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge? For each challenge they post a YUMMY cupcake photo and color combo for inspiration! Everybody likes cupcakes, right?

The current challenge going up today features the a Back to School theme!

Of course I had to play along -- here's the card I created:

I browsed through the Newton's Nook collection to see which sets would be good for the back -to -school theme and came up with a couple. I decided to combine the cat with the globe from our Newton's Graduation Stamp Set with the Cat with the big apple from our Newton Dreams of New York Stamp Set! Don't these two images work perfectly together for the school theme?

I stamped both of the kitties onto watercolor paper using a waterproof black ink and then colored them using Zig Clean Color markers for a bright watercolored look. I used the coordinating Newton Dreams of New York Die Set and Newton's Graduation Die Set to cut out the kitties. For the background I cut an alphabet out of black cardstock using our Essential Alphabet Die Set. I layered this over a scallop edged panel that was cut out using our Frames & Flags Die Set. Then I added a bit of black and white striped washi tape to finish it off. I mounted the whole layout onto a kraft cardstock base.
