It's our 4th Annual Sweet Treats Blog Hop!
The Newton's Nook Designs Team is hopping along today to share some great Sweet Treats - just in time for Valentines day! Make sure you scroll down to the bottom of this post to see the whole list and hop along and comment for a chance to win!
For my stop on this hop I created these fun treat holders:
Here's the pieces you need to create each treat holder:
You will need two pink tags and then a piece of cardstock that is the same width as the tags (about 2 3/8") and about 2" tall. This piece will create a hinge at the bottom. Score the small piece 3/4" in from each end. You fold it up to create a U shape and add adhesive to each flap that is folded up and adhere it to the tag. You will can also cut a tag from pattern paper and one from white to decorate the front. I used the scallop edge mini border that is part of the Fancy Edges Tag Die Set to create those fun edges and layered them over the front of the treat holder. I stamped "Happy Valentine's Day" in the pink area at the bottom of the front from the Love Bites Stamp Set.
For the inside you can add any little treat. For mine I put some conversation hearts into a cello bag and adhered it to the back tag. Then I folded all up and add a ribbon to close it!
To decorate the front, I colored the cat and dog from the Sending Hugs Stamp Set and colored them with copic markers. I also colored an envelope and ice cream from this set. Then trimmed them all out using the coordinating Sending Hugs Die Set. This die is SO COOL because it cuts around the arms so you can insert all those cute little accessories inside them to hold!
I had so much fun playing with this set I decided to try another quick treat holder:
This time I colored the owl, bear and two hearts from the Sending Hugs Stamp Set with copic markers. I cut them out using the coordinating Sending Hugs Die Set and inserted the hearts into their arms. I created little treat toppers using a piece of red cardstock folded in half. On the front half I used the Sky Borders Die Set to create a fun scalloped bottom edge and then put the piece over a cellophane bag filled with candy hearts. I added the sentiments "love" and "hugs" from the Sending Hugs Stamp Set onto little kraft colored banners cut out using the banner shape from the Frames & Flags Die Set. These are so quick and easy to make and look adorable!
