WANTED! More Birthday Cards!
If you're anything like me, I NEVER seem to have enough birthday cards so when I recently had a bit of extra time to craft (which doesn't happen too often), I wanted to create a few more birthday cards for my stash! I had a few images already colored from our Newton Rides West Stamp Set so I put together these two cute cards!
For the first card I used the kitty and two cacti from the Newton Rides West Stamp Set, which were colored using Zig Clean Color Watercolor Markers. I trimmed them out using the coordinating Newton Rides West Die Set and used them to create a cute little birthday scene. I created hills using some cardstock in kraft colored an brown paper using our Land Borders Die Set. I love using these dies to make little scenes. I left room for a sentiment and nestled the cacti around the kitty. For the sky, I did some a wash of bright orange distress ink on a piece of watercolor paper.
I added the "WANTED" sentiment from the Newton Rides West Stamp Set on a little banner and the "for celebrating another birthday" on the hill. I added a bit of blue plaid on the card base to bring out the blue on the kitties hat and scarf too! And of course, I had to add some fun burlap twine to finish it off!
For the second card I kept a similar theme but this time used red and red plaid for the base. The background behind the kitty was another piece of watercolor paper that I added some distress ink onto for a dessert sky feeling. I used the same images of the Kitty and cacti from the Newton Rides West Stamp Set and trimmed them out again using the coordinating Newton Rides West Die Set. I also again used the Land Borders Die Set with some brown cardstock to create a hill.
I really enjoy creating cards that that use the same elements but in slightly different ways to see what can be created! I hope you enjoyed this project today! If you like Newton, make sure to check out all our themed Newton sets in our shop!
