Hello! My name is Neha Parab and I am beyond excited to be a guest designer for Newton’s Nook Designs! I go by the name CompletelyHandmade in the crafty world. I am a Software Developer by profession who is also doing Masters in Healthcare Management. Work and school keep me from crafting all day long, but I still manage to get some time working with stamps and ink, blog about it and make videos! I live in Shrewsbury Massachusetts. I have been crafting since I was a kid. My mom encouraged me to make birthday cards for my dad, brother, cousins and grandparents. My dad always purchased a huge bundle of cards before Diwali, which is a major festival in India, so that he could mail it to friends and family. These acts have rooted the liking for handmade gift giving in me.
My card making style varies very much. I love making my own backgrounds using Distress Inks, Stencils, texture pastes, watercolors, etc. The ink smooshing technique is my favorite! I’m so grateful for this opportunity here at Newton’s Nook! Thank you for having me as your guest! Hope you will like what I have prepared for you! :)
Hello Everyone!!!
I’m so excited to finally be able to share with you all today, that I am the Guest Designer for the month of August at Newton’s Nook Designs! The card I have today uses a mix of Newton's Nook products along with stencils & inks from other brands. Let's take a look.
Here is a close-up showing coloring on the butterfly image.
Process:
I started by sponging ink using Memento Dew Drops through Tim Holtz Dot Fade stencil on 4 x 5 1/4 inches Strathmore Bristol paper card panel.
On another Bristol card panel, I stamped various butterfly images from the Newton's Nook Designs Beautiful Wings stamp set using black ink.
I colored all of those images using Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens and then fuzzy cut them.
I arranged all the images on the stenciled card panel , then decided the position for the sentiments.
The sentiments are a combination of stamps from the Beautiful Wings Stamp Set & Newton Loves Cake Stamp Set sets.
Finally I attached all the butterfly images to the card panel using foam tape.
Lastly I finished the card by attaching the entire card panel to an A2 sized top folding card base.
I absolutely love this stamp set as it reminds me of all the quilling I did in the past!
I hope you all liked it. I would love to hear back from you all. Thank you very much for taking your time to notice it. Hope to hear again from all of u soon. Till then take care. :) PS: If my posts inspire you to create something on similar lines, I feel highly flattered. But please, do respect the effort I take in conceptualizing and executing, please give a direct link to my work when you are inspired by mine. Thanks for understanding :-)
