My name is Kaja and I'm from small European country called Slovenia. I go by the name 'Kajcyika crafts' in the crafty world and you can find me at http://kajcyika-crafts.blogspot.si/. I have to tell you that I am suuuper excited to be guest designing here at Newton's nook for a month of April!
I have been into crafting since I was little, but I never had time to do what I love until about two years ago when I started my university studies in local college. Since then I'm making cards for my family and friends and I love every second of it. I would define my style as clean and simple or clean and graphic. Oh, and I just love coloring! I could be in my craftroom just coloring for hours. I have recently started making cardmaking tutorials on YouTube so I will also add a video for every card I will make as a guest this month.
I'm so grateful for this opportunity here at Newton's Nook! Thank you for having me as your guest. Hope you will like what I have prepared for you! :)
It's Kaja from Kajcyika crafts! I am so honoured to be guest designing for Newton's nook designs in the month of April! Hope you will join me every week to see what I have created for you.
For my first post here I decided to make two cards with new Loveable laundry and it's coordinating die called stitched onesie.
Take a look of what I have created:
I decided to make a video for you every week to explain how to make the cards I am making, so here is the one for these two:
Here's a video by Holly showing you how she created this fun card:
Next, I die cutted stitched scalloped border, using Sky borders die set on one side of my white card stock piece that was about 1 inch high and 4 inches wide. Later on, I stamped the words 'Welcome' and 'baby' from the same Loveable laundry set at the bottom of this piece.
The most time consuming task was to ink blend the rays in the background. I used Spun sugar distress ink and apply it directly to my card base. This color gives a really soft look and the rays are not as visible as on the other one.
For the second one, that I didn't show to you on the process video, I decided to go with Peacock feathers distress ink. This one is a bit more bold and you can see the actual rays better.
I used post it note stickies to achieve the look of the rays. I moved my notes in a semicircle way 6 times and I blended the color out from the middle towards the edge of the card.
In the end I just draw some stitching details in the edge with my black pen and glued everything together. For the finishing touch I added some sequins in the color of the rays and the cards were all finished!
That's it for today. Hope that you like what I have created and that you will join me next monday!
Hugs,
