Floral Sympathy card

Sympathy cards are one of those types of cards that are essential to have on hand as you never know when you might need one. This card I created today was really simple to create too! I stamped the sentiment "heartfelt sympathy" using words from the Simply Sentimental stamp set into the center of a panel of watercolor paper using a waterproof black ink. Then I stamped flowers from our Beautiful Blossoms stamp around it to create a frame of flowers using distress inks in shades of purple and pale blue. Then I added in some leaves in green. Then I took a wet paintbrush and just lightly brushed water over the stamped images to spread the ink and give a soft painterly effect.  I love this effect. It gives the images a soft feel and is so easy!

To finish the card, I added some purple twine and then mounted the panel onto a blue cardstock base. You could easily change the sentiment to make this into cards for other occasions too!
