Happy Friday! This Friday we are ending the week with this adorable French themed thank you card by Amanda! She used our Newton Dreams of Paris stamp set to create this adorable card. I love how she colored the image of the kitty in the hot air balloon in lovely shades of pink, red and light blue! And she even added some glossy sparkle to the hearts! Then she added this image onto a fun stenciled background with the Eiffel Tower image (also from the Newton Dreams of Paris stamp set) in the corner! The added die-cut clouds give it so much fun dimension! She added on the "merci" sentiment on the cute little stitched banner from the Sweet Summer stamp set and some fun patterned washi tape up the side to add a bit more whimsy! So adorable!
Thanks for making us smile today, Amanda! To see more of her beautiful creations, visit Amanda over at her blog, RutabagaPie Designs!
Today we are sharing this adorable mini floral card by Tatiana! She created this little shaped card using the the vase a flowers from our Lovely Blooms stamp set! She inked up those flowers, leaves and jar using Distress inks. Then she die-cut them all out using the coordinating Lovely Blooms Die Set. To make it into a card, she jut the jar out twice to create a shaped card base and glued together only the top part so that it opens and you can leave a message inside. Then she added stamped "for my mum" using the words from the Simply Relative stamp set on a little circle tag that was die-cut using our Tags Times Two Die Set.
Isn't this adorable? I love the idea of shaped cards! Who else is inspired to create a shaped card now!?
Make sure to you take a minute to visit Tatiana on her blog, Tatiana Craft and Art! Leave her a comment and see more of beautiful creations!
Today we have an adorable sloth shaker card by Naki! She used that adorable sloth from In Slow Motion stamp set and colored him using no-line coloring. I just LOVE how she colored the fur on him! He looks so fuzzy I want to pet him! Then she made the image into a fun shaker card, filled with tiny stars! The star theme continues with the tiny star patterned paper and the gold star washi tape! Then she finished it off with an the "have a sloth-some birthday" sentiment, also from the In Slow Motion stamp set, embossed in white on vellum and added on with a cute little heart and a tiny bit of doily! What a sloth-some card!

Hello there!
It's Kaja from Kajcyika crafts! I am back with a new card as a April guest designer here at Newton's Nook blog. Can't believe that this is last Monday in April! I had so much fun and I hope to be back on this blog sometime in the future. :)
Today we will talk about how to use your Christmas stamps in a non-christmas way. I will show you how to do so with a Newton's Nook Designs set called Winston's home for Christmas. :)
First, take a look of what I have created:
I have also prepared a video tutorial for you. Make sure you check it out! :)
The most important thing while doing a technique like this is to know what do you want your image to look like in the end. I knew that I want the Christmas tree and the wreath to be gone, so I used my post it notes to mask it off.
I couldn't make the masks to fit perfectly, since the tree is also inside our car, so I just stamped the masked images on my watercolor paper and filled up the missing lines with my black alcohol marker.
I colored everything up with my ZIG markers and I used the colors that are not Christmas related at all, cause I didn't want this car to remind us of holidays. I think that this could be a perfect birthday card for a boy, since we have a cute car and the gifts on it.
Since I really wanted to focus on a technique of masking of a holiday stamp and making it non-holiday I decided to leave the rest of the card simple. I drew some stitched lines at the background and stamped the sentiment 'Special delivery' from Newton's happy mail set.
In the end I just glued down our card with the double sided rectangles and our birthday card was all finished!
I just want to say that I am really grateful for being a guest designer here at Newton's nook this month and I hope that you enjoyed my cards! :)
Ellen is amazing at making scenes on her cards and today's card is one of my favorites! Those kitties hanging out together having coffee and cake are SO adorable! She did such an amazing job coloring all those cute images and giving them a fun watercolor background!
She used several of our stamp and die sets to create this adorable scene! The kitty with the french press and the coffee cups are from the Newton Loves Coffee stamp set! The kitty with the cake on a plate is from our Newton Love Cake stamp set. Then she added on the cute birdie and butterflies from the Newton's Birdbath stamp set. What a fun combo of images! She also snuck in a bit of grass behind those kitty friends using the grass border from our Land Borders Die Set.
To finish the card she added in a custom sentiment she created using "Glad you're my" and "friend" from the new Simply Relative stamp set and the word "special" from the new Lovely Blooms stamp set! These two sets have words that work so perfectly together!
Then, for some more fun, she created these adorable earrings using the little butterfly from the Newton's Birdbath stamp set! She colored the cute little butterflies and trimmed them out with the coordinating Newton's Birdbath Die Set before inserting them into those cute little earrings! What a fun little gift this would make for a friend!

I love it when Designers on our team come up with unique ways to combine our products that I never would have though of! Today's layout by Samantha is the perfect example of this! She used the fun eggs from our Beautiful Spring stamp set and and combined them with the antlers from our Splendid Stags die set to create an "EGG HUNT" scrapbook page!! This is such a fun idea and unique way to combine these products! The rainbow of colors she used on the eggs is so fun and beautiful against the white page too! What a wonderful way to remember a fun day!
Thank you Samantha for awesome inspiration today! To say hello to Samantha and see more of her awesome creations, you can visit Samantha's Blog, Sam's Scrap Candy!
Today we are sharing this gorgeous peacock card by Juliana! She used the fun new swirly peacock image from our Beautiful Plumage stamp set. I love the way the metallic embossing looks on this beautiful bird! She colored the image in gorgeous shades of green and glue and trimmed it out using the coordinating Beautiful Plumage Die Set. This image really pops off that lovely textured white background and ties in perfectly with the blue border.
She also added in the "Always be yourself" from the Beautiful Plumage stamp set! This set has some really fun inspirational sentiments that are sure to make the recipient of cards using them feel great!
Thanks, Juliana, for the amazing inspiration today! To see more creations by Juliana, you can head over to her blog, 17 Turtles!

Hello there!
It's Kaja from Kajcyika crafts! I am back with a new card as a April guest designer here at Newton's nook blog.
I decided that I want to use one of the stamps of Newton, since they are all so adorable. The one I had chosen is called Newton's Happy Mail!
Take a look of what I have created:
As promised, I have a video tutorial for you. So make sure you check it out! :)
First thing that I had to do was to decide which paper I am gonna use. I decided to go with Neenah desert storm and normal white card stock. I diecutted the rectangle in the middle and it was time to color our Newton!
I stamped the image from Newton's Happy Mail stamp set on my Derwent watercolor paper. I used the colors of ZIG markers that are really muted down to color the image, since I think that bright colors and kraft cardstock don't really go together. I added some gray lines on the Newton's head to make him a bit more realistic and interesting. In the end I just added some more details on the mailbox with my white gel pen.
To make the background a bit less boring, I stamped some paws using Distress Tea dye ink. The paws are from the same Newton's Happy Mail set and I stamped them in the random order.
Of course we also need a sentiment and I went with embossed 'special delivery' phrase in white on my black cardstock.
The last thing was to glue everything together. On all the pieces I used double sided tape and I added some foam rectangles on Newton to make it a bit more dimensional.
That's it for today. Hope that you like what I have created and that you will join me next Monday!
