Beach Day!

Today we have a gorgeous ombré beach card by Lydia! She embossed the palm trees from the Paradise Palms stamp set repeatedly in white to and inked them to create the lovely ombre background! So beautiful! She used the "Make every day a Beach day" sentiment from the Aloha Newton stamp set and accented it with those pretty tropical leaves from our  Hibiscus Die Set, cut out in white! What a stunning card!

Happy Birthday Card by Crafty Math Chick

Surprise! It's a kitty Birthday card!

Today Crafty Math-Chick created this adorable kitty card birthday card! Can you believe that image is from a  Christmas stamp set?  She colored the image of the kitty popping out of the gift from the Newton's Christmas Cuddles stamp set in fun blue and yellow to match the fun bright background paper! So festive and cheerful! She also added the "Happy Birthday" and "May your day be filled with surprises" from our Raccoon Rascals stamp set.

Did you notice that many of the images in our Newton's Christmas Cuddles stamp set can be re-purposed for other types of cards? Just by changing up the way you color the images, a Christmas stamp becomes a birthday one! This is a great stamp to have if you're on a budget since you STRETCH it for different occasions! It also has two sweet kitties kissing (great for anniversary cards), and two kitties snuggling in hats and scarfs (great for winter greetings).  Here's another peek at the set so  you can see all the possibilities:

Happy Little Hello Card by August Guest Designer Mindy Baxter

It's Mindy from My Creative Scoop! This month has been so much fun getting to be apart of the super talented Newton's Nook team. I'm sad to say this 'Happy Little Hello' card is my last. I'm using this brand new, super adorable stamp set, Hedgehog Hollow. I love all of the little elements in this set. Notice how I double stamped the hedgehog to give him some dimension on the mushroom. I adore all of those little colorful mushrooms. There's so many different cards you can make with this set. I can't wait to create with it again.

Several of our Design Team Members decided to play along - check out all the awesome burlap and lace cards they created! Read the description below each card to see who made it.

Naki created an awesome pumpkin card using burlap and lace with our Pick-a-Pumpkin stamp set and Pick-a-Pumpkin Die Set! Such a perfect look for Fall! 

This simplicity on this card by Samantha is so lovely! She used burlap and a lace doily along with the butterflies from the Beautiful Wings stamp set and coordinating Beautiful Wings die set. 

Kimberly created this awesome Autumn card using our new Beautiful Leaves stamp set and coordinating Beautiful Leaves die set! I love the burlap leaf that she cut out with the oak leaf die! 

Crafty Math-Chick used burlap as a fun background for the die cut deer shape from our Splendid Stags Die Set. Then she added the "Happy Birthday" from the new Raccoon Rascals stamp set. What a great masculine birthday card! 

Of course I had to play along too! I used the images from the Beautiful Leaves stamp set and embossed them on kraft colored paper in gold, white and brown. Then I trimmed them out with coordinating Beautiful Leaves die set. The tag was cut out using our Tags Times Two Die Set.  I added some burlap behind the tag and a strip of lace too!

A Little Birdie Told Me Card by Samantha Mann

A little birdie told me...

...that this card by Samantha will make you smile!!

Samantha created this adorable birthday card using that cute kitty with the feathers in his mouth from the Newton's Birthday Flutter stamp set.  Do you think that naughty kitty just ate the bird, or do you think he got away? Either way this card is super fun! She fussy-cut out the kitty image and added it onto those pretty rolling hills and yellow sky! The red balloon floating away gives the perfect pop of color. The sentiment is also from the Newton's Birthday Flutter stamp set and was embossed on a little banner that she cut out using the Garden Window Die Set.

When Life Gives You Lemons Card by Yukari Yoshioka

Sweet pink lemonade! 

Today we're sharing this sweet pink lemonade card by Yukari using our new Freshly Squeezed stamp set. The image of our bear, Winston, with his lemonade stand looks so cute with the pink stripes and the fun yellow banner! I think he's probably selling pink lemonade today! She also added on the "when life gives you lemons, make lemonade" sentiment from the  Freshly Squeezed stamp set over some more pink and white stripes! I love how this looks! This card would be great to cheer someone up!

Congrats Penguin Card by Naki Rager

Congrats penguin card!

Today's card by Naki will make you go "awwww"! She created this adorable card using the penguins from our Wild Child stamp set!  She did such a wonderful job coloring that cute little penguin and chick image! Then she made ta lovely snowy scene for them with a pretty glittery snow pile! What a fun idea! The added sparkle makes the card seem extra special. All the polka dots are fun too! Wouldn't this make an adorable baby card?

Happy Birthday Card with August Guest Designer Mindy Baxter

Hi again. Happy Monday! It's Mindy from My Creative Scoop.

Today I have a super cute card using this brand new stamp from Raccoon Rascals set.. I love the way his fur turned out. I really wanted this cutie to be my focal point so I didn't add too much to the card. Just a little twine and dimension. I used my Copic Markers W's, warm greys. I love the texture I created and how I made tiny little flicks on the outer part of the raccoon to create that texture and really bring the fur to life.

Let the cat out of the bag!

For our post in the hop today I thought I would share a card featuring one of our cute kitty stamp sets, Newton's Birthday Bash. If you're new to Newton's Nook Designs you might not know Newton yet but he is our big orange kitty and the inspiration for many of our popular kitty stamp sets!  (You can follow us on instagram to see a ton of fun kitty pix of the "real" Newton.)

For this card, I used the image of the kitty in the bag and stamped it onto watercolor paper with black waterproof ink. I colored it with Inktense watercolor pencils and then carefully trimmed out the image, fussy cutting it by hand. If you don't like to cut by hand, this set does now have a coordinating die set so you can cut it easily with that too. 

I wanted to make this card into a masculine birthday card so I kept the color palette simple, using teals and browns. I used some striped brown washi and a strip of subtle teal patterned paper. Then I added the cat to the white cardstock with a dimensional square and stamped the "let the cat out of the bag" and "it's your birthday" on each side of the image. These sentiments are also part of the Newton's Birthday Bash stamp set! 

I love how this card turned out. It's simple and fun and will make a great birthday card!
