Yummy Yummy ice cream!

Today I'm sharing this gorgeous ice cream birthday card by Nina-Marie. She used our ice cream cone stamps from our new Summer Scoops stamp set and embossed them with white and used watercolors to color over them! I love this effect. It's so pretty and soft! Then she added the "Happy Birthday with Sprinkles on Top" sentiment, which is also from the Summer Scoops stamp set. This would be such a fun birthday card for someone with a summer birthday!

Set Sail with this ship in a bottle! 

Here is a fun ship in a bottle card by Danielle. I love how sue used our new Message in a Bottle stamp set and coordinating Message in a Bottle die to cut out the bottle.  She added some really cool details to her scene. Did you noticed the fun stippled water dots and the way she colored the boat to look like real wood? So cool! I also love the addition of the vellum circle and the fun strips of pattern paper. This would be a great layout to use for using up all those little scraps we save!!

Shake it up with this adorable birthday card by Jess! 

Wow - check out this amazing shaker card by Jess! I think the girls on my team might love shaker cards as much as I do -which is a TON!! This one by Jess is super cool! She used the cute raccoon image from the Sweetheart Tails stamp set and paper pierced him with cute patterns. So adorable! I love the addition of the balloons as part of the shaker too!

This sweet kitty sends get well wishes!!

Today I'm sharing this super cute get well card by Crafty Math-Chick. This card would be perfect to cheer up a sick friend! She used our cute little image of the cat with the cast on his arm from our Newton's Sick Day stamp set. I love how she colored the kitty with shades of gray and added cute little freckles too. Then she paired it with some cute cat scrapbook paper! So adorable!

You're Jaw-Some Shark card!

Our Jaw-some Shark set is back! 

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a great weekend! We are excited to say that our "Shark Bites" stamp set is back in stock. This set was so popular during our Shark Week that it sold out in just a few days - but we've got a bunch more now, so if you missed out on shark week, you can head over to our shop now and get it.

Since our sharks are back I thought I'd share this fun Shark card today. I created this card as a birthday card for my friend Erika who who loves sharks and the movie JAWS! I knew I HAD to create a special shark card for her. I started by stamping the shark bursting out of the water and the "you're JAW-some" sentiment with waterproof ink on watercolor paper. Then I added some color with inktense pencils. For the background I used distress inks with water and a paintbrush. I flicked the brush to add the speckles. I also added a couple of waves near the bottom using distress inks.

To finish it off I added on some epoxy dots. Then I mounted the whole thing to a blue card base. 

I even made a matching envelope by flicking some paint on it and stamping the bold little shark.

Here's a Summer card by me - I used Newton's Summer Vacation stamp set to create a fun summer  birthday card! I added some paint splatter and watercolor around the kitty to add more of a beachy feel!

Today I'm sharing another sweet card by Yukari using our new Summer Scoops stamp set! I love the soft pinks and blues she used on this card with a touch of mint for the ice cream too! I just love how pretty that ice cream dish looks! Good enough to eat!  I also love the soft muted color she put behind the image - so pretty! The sentiment "what's the scoop" is also from the  Summer Scoops stamp set.

What's the Scoop? card by Samantha Mann

Kitties love ice cream!

This is such a fun card by Samantha Mann today! It totally made me laugh when I first saw it! She had the great idea to use the image of the kitty from the Newton Dreams of Paris stamp set and combined him with the ice cream cone from the new Summer Scoops stamp set. It's so funny how she cut out the ice cream and put it on his head! So cute!! For more details, check out Samantha's Blog, Sam's Scrap Candy! 

For those of you who are cat-owners, do you cats like ice cream? Newton always acts like he wants the ice cream but if you put it up to his face, he doesn't like the cold and he backs away! So funny!

Ship in a Bottle Card

Let you Dreams Set Sail!

Today I wanted to share another fun card using our Message in a Bottle Stamp set and coordinating die! I created this fun bottle image by stamping and cutting out the bottle and the ship with our new coordinating dies. I colored the boat with copics and added a light blue border to the bottle with copics too. Then I also cut another bottle shape out of the vellum (I didn't stamp on the vellum, just used the bottle shape) and I layered that over the top to give it a "frosted" bottle look. I attached some brown and white bakers twine around the bottle neck to help hold it in place.  Then I added a piece of light colored burlap behind the bottle. 

The base of the card was a white cards tock that I splattered with distress inks and then I added the "Let your dreams set sail" sentiment, also from the  Message in a Bottle stamp set. I also added a strip of red and white stripes to add to the nautical look. I am having SO much fun with this new stamp set and dies too!

Newton's Nook Designs 2nd Anniversary Blog Hop!

Newton’s Nook Designs is so excited to be celebrating our TWO Year Anniversary - WOW - TWO whole years of getting our paws inky! I remember how excited I was when our first four sets came in the mail two years ago! (see photo below) - Now we have 67 products in our shop, including BRAND NEW DIES!!! It's been an AMAZING two years - filled with happiness, stress, lots of excitement and very little sleep!

We want to take a minute to say THANK YOU to all our fans, designers and customers who helped make it happen! We are so happy to be here and we can't wait to see what the next year brings!

To celebrate, we have a blog hop and we've invited some very special guests to our hop along  - Jennifer Ingle, Tessa Wise, Shellye McDaniel, AND the Simon Says Stamp blog! How cool is that? Make sure to scroll down to the end of the post to see the whole list!

For our stop on the hop, I wanted to use our Newton's Naptime and coordinating NEW Purr-fect die set! Since our namesake kitty (the "real" Newton) is orange I colored the kitty orange to look like him. Then I gave him a stack of bright colored blankets too! This image is SO FUN to color! After coloring the blankets, I cut out the image with the fun coordinating die!

For the card base, I took a white piece of cardstock and cut the "thought bubble" out and added a bit of light yellow paper behind it. I stamped the "I love you more than naps" sentiment in the thought bubble. If you follow me on instagram, where I post lots photos of sleepy Newton, you know that Newton does LOVE to nap, so that sentiment is saying a lot! I finished off the card with some fun patterned washi tape and bakers twine (my two favorite card-making essentials!)
